I can feel Christmas in the air.

As soon as I see her, my heart goes crazy. Although I prefer Hailey with her hair down, seeing her with her hair tied up, in that red dress, with her belly, makes me think of many forbidden things.

“Hi, guys. Merry Christmas,” she greets us as she opens the door.

“Hello, honey. Merry Christmas.” I hug her. “You’re gorgeous and sexy as hell,” I whisper to her. She whines in response.

“Merry Christmas, Preciosa. You look amazing. Look at you!” Drew whistles and gets a nudge from me. “Where is your husband? I need him?” asks Drew, catching me off guard.

“He should be in the office for a phone call. From the kitchen, second door on the right,” Hailey tells him.

I’m mesmerized by her pink lips. I kiss them quickly, and she smiles.

“He didn’t say anything about the tree? Isn’t it too Christmas or too big?” I ask, laughing.

She shrugs.

“Of course. However, it’s magical, and the decorations are amazing. It feels like looking at a postcard. It’s magical and reflects you a lot,” I tell her, holding her close to me for a moment. “I love you, baby,” I whisper to her, and she smiles. I love these smiles of hers. I love everything about her.

“I know we said no presents, but because he doesn’t want to celebrate Christmas, I thought I’d give it to you now. It’s just a little thought.” I hand her the box that Tiffany’s wrapped for me.

She takes me by the hand and leads me to her office, then closes the door.

“Danny, it’s a shame to open it.” She holds it in her hand as if it were the most precious thing she has ever received.

“Open it. I really hope you like them. I got a little help, to be honest.” I wink at her. She knows I’m talking about Mom.

Finally, she unwraps the gift carefully, and her eyes light up.

“Danny, they’re beautiful,” she says, taking them. I chose diamond earrings—simple, elegant, and classy.

She puts them on and kisses me. “Thanks, love, I love them. But...I also have something for you,” she says, going to take a box from the desk. She hands it to me.

“Baby, you shouldn’t have,” I say, opening it. I’m pleasantly surprised by her gamble.

It’s a wristwatch, but not just anyone. I had seen this IWC in a magazine, and I’d loved it. I had heard from the dealer, but he said they would arrive within six months.

What makes it unique isn’t the Moon Phase 36 model that she has chosen, but the meaningful engraving: “Ever Thine, Ever Mine, Ever Ours.”

I take her in my arms and kiss her; I don’t care if someone comes in. I’ll take responsibility.

“I love you, baby, it’s amazing. How did you know? But above all, how did you manage to get it?”

“You know the magazine you have in the living room, on the table? It fell open right on the page of this watch, and I took it as a sign.” she tells me, putting the watch on my wrist “And I got it thanks to a friend of a writer who owed me a favor. When you know the right people, everything is sorted out.”

“I love the engraving,” I tell her, stroking her neck. She closes her eyes.

“I know, that’s why I chose it. To remind you that I’m yours,” she whispers on my lips before kissing me. “We have to go back down.”

“I don’t need to remember what I know for sure,” I tell her. She gives me a melting smile.

Before I let her open the door, I stop her and kiss her one last time.

Dinner is going well and what she has cooked is delicious.

During dessert, Jeremy asks me to accompany Hailey to do the follow-up ultrasound.

I can’t believe it. I mean, seriously? Andrew is left speechless. Hailey looks at me.
