“Don’t worry, I won’t disappoint you.”

“You never do, love.”

We finish our lunch. As we go back to the car, he hugs me and kisses me tenderly.

“I’m sorry about this morning,” he whispers.

“Everything can be solved by talking. There’s no need to be violent.”

“I didn’t want to be, baby. Will you forgive me?”

“Already done.” I stand on my tiptoes and kiss him.

A mistake can happen to anyone. With the amount of work and responsibility of Jeremy’s facing, he has lost his mind.

He takes me back to work, and I immerse myself entirely in my world. I have to conclude many projects, hoping that whoever takes my place will continue on this path while maintaining an excellent job.

I get up to put away the last folder when I hear a knock on the door.

“Come in,” I say as I pick up the ringing phone. I tell the security guard to wait.

“Hi, Jeremy. What’s up?”

“I was worried about you. Where are you?”

“In the office. Why?”

“Hailey, its 10 pm. You should be home by now, not there.”

“What, it’s already 10? Fuck, I’m coming.” I set down the phone and get my bag and jacket. I see the guard staring at me.

“Excuse the timetable. Did you need anything?”

“There’s a man outside the studio who is asking insistently for you.”

“Tall, black hair, pissed?”

“Yes.”

“He’s my husband. I’m going out right now. Thank you.”

When I leave the building, I see a tired and worried Jeremy. He hugs me.

“You gave me a heart attack. When I didn’t see you at home, I came here, but they wouldn’t let me in.”

“I’m sorry, I lost track of time. Let’s grab a pizza and go home. I’m sorry.”

We get into our cars and head home. Once we arrive, Jeremy takes me in his arms and kisses me.

“I missed you, baby,” he whispers as he bites my neck.

“I missed you, too.”

In the kitchen, he makes me sit on the table and stops to look at me.

“How lucky am I to have you.”

I smile as I take off his tie. “Shall we take a shower before the pizza arrives?” I ask him.
