Zodiac grinned. “When I get back home, I’ll need a blowjob since you were too selfish to provide one despite me going down on you twice.”
“I approve of you getting your knob slobbered on by a cheap whore since there’s no way I’m putting that damn thing in my mouth.”
Clint wrapped an arm around Ivy, which wasn’t easy since she was itty-bitty. “Do you hear that?” he asked his woman. “Romance is in the air.”
Ivy snickered and grinned at me.
I shook my head and insisted, “Don’t pity me, Ivy. My romantic nature insisted I give this man a chance to woo me. Unfortunately, he failed, and I absolutely won’t finger myself to thoughts of him tonight.”
Losing his grin, Clint muttered, “Okay, now, we’re getting a little too honest for my taste.”
“Your brother is a prude,” Zodiac told me.
“Our parents raised us to be lame. Oh, I’m sorry. Did it hurt your feelings to hear we had parents?”
Zodiac shrugged. “I had parents. Everyone has them. You’re not special.”
“You’re so adorable when you wear your sad foster kid expression. Allow me to hug you.”
“Alright, but I’m copping a feel.”
While I wrapped my arms around Zodiac and he gingerly slapped my ass, Clint said, “I can’t tell what’s happening here.”
“We’re saying goodbye.”
“You’re riding back to Baton Rouge today?” Clint asked Zodiac.
“No, I’m bunking somewhere and returning home tomorrow. Exile might come with me.”
“Did you figure out what happened with the fire?”
“Not for certain, but we’re leaning toward the fire being unrelated to the Void.”
I held onto Zodiac and tried to remain flippant. Going goo-goo-gaga over this man was the epitome of dumb. He wasn’t a keeper. Our only future was as coparents.
“Are you okay?” Clint asked me.
Answering for me, Zodiac helpfully shared, “Getting properly fucked last night has made your little sister extra needy.”
“It’s not personal,” I said and pushed off him. “I think you might have injured my back. That’s why I was using you as a crutch. Ivy, come closer so I can lean on you.”
Ivy considered refusing my demand. I saw her blue eyes narrowing like I was messing with her. But then, she likely sensed I was ready to cry and glue myself to Zodiac to keep him nearby. Protecting me from myself, she moved closer and allowed me to hold her.
My gaze met Zodiac’s, and he smiled smugly. I hated how I couldn’t hide my feelings. As soon as I surprised him at his place, I showed all my cards and handed him the power.
ZODIAC
Elle could barely take her eyes off me. Since our night together, I owned her in a new way. The best part was that she handed over her heart. I barely had to do a damn thing.
Though my ego felt great, my head raced with thoughts of Elle’s safety. I’d fucked up by letting her stay over the night before. Waking up next to Elle left me feeling like we were a real couple rather than people incapable of making a relationship work.
Elle stopped fondling me once Sutter and Ford exited the house. The boy smiled big for his mom before losing his grin when he saw me.
“How is school?” I asked while Elle hugged Sutter to her body. “Wait, it’s summer, right?
“Yeah, so how is running a biker club?”
“It’s fun and lucrative.”
