It was only during this celestial event that the moon and the sun orbited toward one another, and it was through this phenomenon that the lesser gods residing on Nytherae were given the chance to journey to Olympus. Prior to this point in time, the sun had never been observed orbiting the moon in a manner that would be considered too close—until now.
I’m inclined to trust you, Thalira, which is unusual, considering my typical distrust of Zeus and the other gods.
“Indeed, my King. Their actions must be stopped immediately. Having first come for our belongings, their focus will expand to encompass yours as well.”
With his fingers still clenched tightly around the thunderbolt, Zeus slowly moved his hand against his side, and a deep, mournful silence enveloped the area. His body was rigid with rage, every muscle tense, and he ground his teeth together, appearing as though he might explode at any moment. The anger grew inside his limbs, which shook with each thought that surged in his mind.
He had to make a decision; he needed a plan to combat the imminent danger Thalira had explained to him. But his eyes revealed a deeper truth than mere strategy to vanquish their common enemy. The decades of divine battles to preserve Olympus flashed before his eyes, which shown white and gleamed with a suggestion of deeply rooted violence.
It seemed that he not only wanted to put distance between the Solaris family and himself, but also to get the vengeance he had longed for so many millennia.
“We will remain in touch,” Zeus stated, his commanding voice nearly echoing through the clouds. “I shall not allow Solaris to destroy what we have both worked toward for such a long time.”
“We will not allow this. Although thekeybetween our worlds is no longer alive to permit their entry into our homes, we must remain vigilant. A pathway to our worlds might be found, potentially without requiring a living key.”
What is the key that bridges our worlds?
I had no prior knowledge of such a matter.
After cocking a brow, Zeus gazed back at Olympus while contemplating the danger coming for both of them. When he lifted his thunderbolt into the air in an effort to return back to his kingdom, Thalira placed her hand on his wrist, and then she delicately held it with her slender fingers.
Are you impatient to leave, basileús?
“Did you perhaps overlook something, my King?” she purred, while her eyes revealed emotions beyond the fear of the Solaris family’s possible attack—perhaps a flicker of lust was present.
Her question appeared to ease his simmering anger, and he glanced at her, a playful smirk at the right corner of his mouth as he asked, “Something or someone?”
“You shall be the one to tell me,” she replied, moving to minimize the space between them.
Her eyes filled with a playful light as she carefully studied his face, eager to catch every fleeting expression that might appear. With a swift movement of his body, Zeus wound his arm around her waist and his lips captured hers in a mere second.
With every moment that he savored the taste of Thalira’s lips, the electrical energy within his thunderbolt grew stronger, and the clouds encircling them were brightly illuminated. The woman responded with a whimper, and her hands began to explore beneath the linen shirt that he had on.
As she moaned into his mouth, her knees buckling and giving way, she surrendered herself completely to his arms and whispered, “Only a king like you could use his mouth in such a manner.”
He withdrew from the kiss, smirking as he gently bit her swollen lower lip and said, “You will have to be patient to discover its other talents, my moon.”
I feel rather queasy all of a sudden.
“I adore it when you address me in that manner,” Thalira murmured. Rather than drawing closer, she distanced herself and briefly turned to observe the Kosmos. “I must wait for your lips on me, my King. More critical matters require our attention.”
Zeus nodded and raised his thunderbolt again, this time the same lightning that took him to this spot appearing through the sky. “We shall stay in touch. Should you witness any further activity from the Solaris family, report it to me at once.”
She cast him a last look before she vanished into the Kosmos, while Zeus was carried away by the emerging electricity of his lightning.
There wasn’t anything more disgusting than what I have just witnessed, but it is indeed valuable information to know.
It would have been unlikely for anyone to suspect Zeus of having an affair with the Queen of the Moon, and similarly, it would have been unusual to suspect that an imminent threat from the sun was about to emerge.
Following Zeus, Shadow maintained a safe distance to ensure Zeus remained unaware of his presence.
They cut through the sky faster this time, Zeus surging forward with ever-increasing speed as if there was a growing urgency inside him. This detail did not escape Shadow’s notice. Zeus was moving with more speed and urgency than when he had previously hastened to meet with Thalira.
Curiosity begun to fill Shadow’s mind the moment they finally got back to Olympus. This time, they found themselves situated not in proximity to the Temple of Zeus or even the city, but rather amid an open expanse of beautifully grown olive trees.
Shadow kept lingering in the air, still paying attention to the distance between him and Zeus. He was even more motivated now not to let him be aware of his presence. He understood his search for Zeus would cause the revelation of other secrets.
Zeus threw a few furtive glances around him as if he was trying to make sure there was no one lingering nearby.
