‘Back to London. My cousin Sean has a landscaping business, going to help him for a bit, until I can afford to set up on my own again. And Maeve, well she’s all up for me seeing a lot more of Niall, but would rather me be in London than Cornwall as it’s so much easier for him to fly straight into Heathrow.’
‘Well, that’s such a positive. I wish you so much happiness, Conor, and I’m so pleased that your boy is here with you now too for Christmas.’
‘Me too,’ Conor said quietly, willing the stinging in hiseyes to retreat. ‘Now go back to your fella, he’s waiting for you.’
Star picked up the drinks and headed back to Jack.
‘Cheers.’ The couple clinked paper cups and couldn’t stop smiling at each other.
‘If you’ve been a good girl this year, I hear that you even get a special present the night before Christmas Eve,’ Jack said, giving her an intimate look.
‘Another one?’ Star said flirtily, leading him by the hand down the side alley of her shop and up the stairs to her flat.
