Slowly, I followed the trail of blood to the window. Crawling on my hands and knees, I made my way to the curtains, pushing them back and causing the broomstick to fall to the floor.
“Oh Goddd!” I sobbed uncontrollably as her head rolled into the corner. “Who did this to you?!”
Covering my face, I cried for my mother. She may have had her flaws, but she was mine! She loved me as best as she could.Who could hurt her like this? Who would take her away from me?
JJ.
My mind answered for me, and the devil inside of me emerged simultaneously. Chest heaving, I stood to my feet, wobbling, trying to stay upright. I ignored the cries and screams of her friends who came into the house. When someone yelled about Aerial being dead, too, I looked over to see my uncle’s mother with a huge gash in her chest. I’d been so distraught about my own mother that I didn’t notice her before the announcement. Seeing my mother’s head in the window had shaken me, and I had to get out of there. I pushed past the small crowd that had gathered around to gossip and stare. Jumping into my car, I shook from grief and anger as I started my car and flew out of the lot. The McKnights had taken from me for the last time.
It’s their turn to see what it feels like now.
Pulling up outside of the medical examiner’s office, I hopped out of my car with nothing but murder on my mind. I knew without a doubt that JJ was behind my mother’s murder, and for that, he was about to die.
“TJ?” I heard Sheena’s whiny voice from behind me as I hustled toward the entrance of the building. “Where are you going?”
Ignoring her, I pulled on the metal door handles and tried to shake them from the hinges. I banged on the door repeatedly, but no one was answering. That pissed me off even more, and I found myself spazzing out at the doors.
“Let me in this muthafucka right now, Sheena!” I yelled as she walked up beside me. “I’m killing this nigga! Today!”
My chest heaved up and down as she watched me with wild eyes. My mother was gone, I’d probably lost my girl, and I’d committed murder. I didn’t have anything to lose, and if my life was over, ending a McKnight would make me feel a hell of a lot better.
“TJ, tell me what’s wrong,” Sheena asked hesitantly as she dropped her work bag to her feet, taking slow steps toward me. “You look like shit. Is that blood?”
“Where the fuck is Jaseon Jr?” I hissed, slamming her into the door of the building. “Tell me right fucking now where that nigga is!”
Groaning from the grip I had on her arm, she tried her best to wiggle from my hold, but it was no use. I was on one, and she was damn near on her way to an early grave herself.
“You need to calm down, please.” She peered up at me with scared eyes. “Take a minute and look around. There isn’t anyone here.” She gestured and nodded behind me. “We’d been working nonstop on the fire outside of town, and the office is closed for a few hours for everyone to regroup. Everyone is gone.”
Still not letting her go, I took a look around the lot and realized it was, in fact, empty. Snapping my eyes shut, I took a few deep breaths before finally letting her arm go. I was losing my grip on reality, and I needed to reel it in quickly.
“My bad.” I rubbed my hand down my face before blowing out a deep breath. “I’m just having a really fucked up day.” I picked up her bag from the ground, handing it to her. “My bad if I hurt you.”
“It’s fine.” She gave me a shaky smile. “You just need to relax a little. We can’t have you locked up if you want to get your little girlfriend away from my man.” My jaw ticked at her comment, but I was going to play it cool. She arched her brow at me beforecontinuing. “Matter of fact, I have a few minutes, if you want to talk.”
Although I wasn’t in the mood for conversation, I signaled toward my car and watched as she led the way. I couldn’t help but zone in on the way her ass switched from left to right in her green scrubs. If I wasn’t in a fucked up headspace, I would bend her ass over the hood of my car right here in the lot.
“So what’s up, Sheena?” I sighed, throwing my head back against the seat once we got inside my car. Lack of sleep was catching up to me, and my adrenaline was starting to wear off. “I got so much shit going on right now, and I don’t have time for any games.”
“Lucky for you, I don’t either.” She sassed, slamming her purse in her lap. “Like I was telling you earlier, I spotted your bitch with my man on vacation in the Islands.” I turned my head toward her and watched as she began tapping away on her cell phone. “At first, I thought it was a coincidence. You know, just a friendly meet and greet. Well, that was until he stepped down on me and made it clear that if I said anything to her, he’d kill and bury me there.” A lone tear fell down her cheek as she spoke. “Look at these and see just how cozy they were.”
Dragging my eyes from her to the phone in her extended hand, I grabbed it before saying a small prayer that I didn’t have to spazz out more than I already had. I guess God was done with me because with every picture I swiped through, I got more and more irate.
I shook my head in denial. “Nah. This shit ain’t real.”
“Oh, it’s very real.” She folded her arms and slid further into my passenger seat. “At first, I thought the jet ski ride was harmless because the bitch was scary. After he threatened me that night, I didn’t think too much about it. That was until this.” She leaned over, grabbed the phone, and handed it back to me. “Ifollowed him, and he led me right to a dinner date. That wasn’t all.”
Tuning her out, I swiped picture after picture of this man wining and dining my girl. The way she smiled and looked at him with love in her eyes broke me. I didn’t think things could get any worse until the next few pictures knocked the wind out of me.
“What the fuck?!” I roared, causing my windows to rattle. “That nigga fucking my girl!”
Hearing the sniffles from the side of me, I pressed play on the video as moans filled my ride. Under the stars on the beach, I watched as JJ deep stroked my girl into bliss. The way her legs wrapped around his waist, pulling him closer to her, caused bile to rise in my throat.
“Tell me you love this dick, Bloss Baby. I’m about to nut all in this pussy.”
“Yessss, Papa! Fuck me!”
Shaking with anger, I threw the phone back at Sheena, not giving a fuck that I’d hit her in the face. All I could see was red, and I was going to make someone feel me, even if it had to be her.
