Heart thumping in my chest, I watched him closely as he took a few photos from a manila folder and slid them my way. Slowly, I dropped my eyes down at them and gulped at what I saw. Before me were pictures of her neck and jawline, red and bruised from where I put my hands on her.

“I can explain,” I spoke frantically. “This isn’t what it looks like. We were talking and?—”

“You put your hands on this woman, Hines, and she has decided to press charges.” He nodded, causing me to look back toward his office door. In the doorway stood one of my colleagues, Officer Torres. “He’s going to get your statement on what happened. Once he’s done, you can leave for the day. You will also be placed on desk duty while we complete an investigation. Hand over your service weapon for now.”

Leaving no room for argument, I tucked my tail and handed my gun over. Turning toward Torres, he gestured toward his cubicle, allowing me to walk ahead so he could get my statement. The entire precinct’s eyes were on me, and I had never been so humiliated. After twenty minutes of questioning, I’d wrapped up my statement and was gathering my things to go.

“Have a good day, Detective!” I glanced over my shoulder to find the voice and locked eyes with an amused Stephanie as she continued, saying, “I hope you have the day you deserve.”

I pushed open the building doors with force, choosing not to engage with her. I was liable to smack Stephanie with the way I was feeling. When I got my hands on Lisa, I was going to give her a few more reasons to report me. That bitch had gone too far this time, and she never had to worry about me sticking my dick in her ever again.

“I might as well pull up on my girl.” I sighed as I drove the streets and headed toward Blossom’s office. “It’s not like I don’t have the time now.”

It took me no longer than thirty minutes before I was pulling into the lot of her realty office. Looking around, it was a nice, sunny day, so people were already out in the shopping center. I had time to stop for flowers, so I reached into the backseat to grab them before going inside.

“If it ain’t one fuck boy, it’s another…”

Mugging Stacy as I stepped inside of Blossom’s suite, I had the mind to arrest her ass just because, but I was already on thin ice with my girl, and I didn’t want to make it worse. Stacy didn’t like me, and I damn sure didn’t like her fat ass either.

“Hello, Stacy.” I gripped the flowers, biting back the urge to call her a bitch. “How are you this morning?”

“My day was going just fine until you showed up.” She rolled her eyes, typing on her computer. “I should throw your trifling ass out, but it’s not my place.” Picking up her desk phone, she kept her eyes on me as she dialed. “Your boy is out here.”

Chuckling and rubbing a hand over my mouth, I stepped back from her desk. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths. For the past few years, I’d put up with Stacy’s shit off the strength of Blossom, but that ended today.

“I don’t know who the fuck you think I am, Stacy, but I’m not the nigga to play with.” I stepped back toward her desk, eyes trained on her. I wanted her to feel every word I said. “You’re nothing to me but my girl’s bitch-ass friend. If you keep acting like you got a problem with me, I don’t mind showing you how much of a problem I really am.”

Smirking, she stood from her seat, rounding her desk and stepping to me. My eyes roamed her thick frame, and I couldn’t deny she was fine as fuck, no matter how wide she looked. If I thought for one second I could fuck her without Blossom finding out, I would.

“Never in your good-for-nothing life, fuck boy!” She sneered, causing me to jerk my eyes up to hers. “I’m so glad my friendsees you for the sorry-ass nigga you are. I pray every day that a big dick nigga with deep pockets and a bigger heart swoops her up and treats her better than you ever could.”

“Bitch—”

“Tyreek!” Blossom’s voice shouted, causing me to jump slightly. “What are you doing?”

Dragging my eyes from Stacy’s to hers, I began to smile until I locked eyes with a man I’d never seen before, standing slightly behind her. He was dressed in casual business attire, so I assumed he was here for a meeting. The grin on his face caused doubt, which pissed me off further. Keeping my eyes on him, I watched as he waltzed out of the building without a care in the world.

“Who the fuck is that?” I snarled as I pointed behind me. “Don’t get fucked up, Blossom!”

“Ohhh! I’m shaking in my boots.” She waved her hands, imitating fear. “I’m going to ask you one more time, why are you in my office? I’ve been ignoring your calls for a reason.”

Her saying that made me remember my purpose for even coming here in the first place. Stepping toward her, I looked her over. Blossom was always dressed to the nines, and I hated it. My girl was bad as hell, and if I could see it, I knew other niggas could too. Her small curves and beautiful face could bring the strongest man to his knees if she wanted him to be there.

“Can we go inside your office and talk?” I pleaded into her cold eyes. “I just want to talk to you.”

Holding my stare, I was worried before she sighed and relented. “Stacy, hold my calls for about ten minutes. I’m sure this won’t take long.”

Turning on her heels, she left me standing in the lobby. She’d never been so dry with me before, so I was taken aback a little by her attitude. Once inside her office, she slammed the door.

Whap!

Before I could even say anything, she’d smacked the shit out of me.

“How dare you come here after everything you’ve done?” She hissed with fire in her eyes. “Do you take me for a fuckin’ fool?”

“Baby, did you just put your hands on me?” I rubbed the soreness of my cheek. She had never been this mad to the point that she’d hit me. “I came here to bring you flowers and to talk to you. What the fuck is wrong with you?”

“Withme?” She grimaced angrily, walking back over toward her desk. Snatching up her cell phone, she put in her code before shoving it into my face. “Your cheating ass is what’s wrong with me!”
