For once, I agree with Walk… And we all know how rare that is…
You have done enough, Walk. I can handle it. I have plenty of savings and plan on taking out a business loan for the farm. Can’t we just be excited about the horse and lecture me later?
Walker:
For now. When I get home, we are having a chat. Speaking of which, I’ll be home next week.
Ava:
It sucks that y'all didn’t make the World Series, but we are so proud of you, Walk!! Also, excited to have you back home.
Weston:
Yeah, man, tough loss in Game 6, but proud of you, brother.
Awwww, West does have a heart!!!
Ava:
SOOOO SWEET WEST!
Weston:
This is why I don’t talk.
Walker:
Thanks, brother.
Ava:
Inother news…how was the trip with Dr. Sexy as Fuck?
Weston:
Can we not?
Omg, Avs… It was good. He’s a cool guy.
Ava:
That’s it? That’s all that we get?
Yup. Got to go.
Walker:
Deflection at its finest.
I chuckled to myself and turned my phone back over, then turned toward Dean. “Sorry about that. Sibling group chat blowing up,” I said.
He nodded and chuckled. “Got it. Too bad about the Aviators not making the World Series, but that was a hell of a season they had for such a rookie team. When will Walker beback?” Dean asked, glancing in his side-view mirror to change lanes.
“I know, we are so proud of him and the guys. He’ll actually be home next week, and then he won’t head back to Austin until February. It’ll be nice to have him home,” I said.
Dean glanced over at me again. “Looking forward to meeting him. So, I forgot to ask earlier when we were sharing our life stories, how did you get into horses anyway?”
“My mom rode most of her life, so when Ava and I were about four or five years old, she put us in lessons, and the rest is history. Ava is a great rider, but it’s more of a hobby for her. She prefers the hunter ring over the jumper ring. My mom also made West and Walk take lessons when they were young, but they gravitated toward the Western style of riding versus the English. They were obsessed with this cowboy show growing up, so they wanted to be cowboys.” I chuckled to myself and continued, “As you know, Walk still rides for fun, and West will occasionally get on one of Walk’s horses when he’s around.” I leaned down to grab my water bottle out of my bag.
