“Out of respect for Thea and Cassius, I thought I should probably not bend you over their table to prove that you are mine.”
“Taking me out here proves nothing.”
Haden walked for what seemed like forever. The sound of the waterfall was getting louder as he stormed into the woods. After a few minutes, he stopped and moved me so I was slowly sliding down the front of his body. His eyes didn’t move from mine.
“If I lifted up your dress and sank my fingers into you, would you be wet?”
Gods, I loved how much he did not care about what he said when he was void.
“Yes.”
His face didn’t move, but he seemed to be thinking.
“You left me kneeling in the dirt earlier,” he reminded me. That was so fucking hard to do, too.
“That’s right, and I’ll do it again.”
Haden’s hands gripped my hips and yanked me against him. There was a challenge in his eyes that made me swallow hard.
“You’re not going to leave me like that again, Storm.” He ran his hands through my hair and yanked it back so he could see me. “I think you should apologize to me.”
“For what?”
“You knew what you were doing tonight. I will never share your attention with another man. I will never share anything about you with anyone. You are mine, and you made me doubt that twice today.”
I was about to say something snarky when I looked at his face and saw that he meant it. He really was having doubts about my feelings for him. The angry part of me that wanted to hurt him for the past nine years died inside of me. My mating bond did not like that I was making him feel this way.
“You really think I am interested in anyone but you?” I was confused.
“Tell me you aren’t.” It wasn’t a demand. He was pleading to hear me say it. His chest moved in shallow breaths as he waited for me to respond.
“I’m not,” I confessed.
“I think you can convince me better than that, Storm. Show me how much you missed me,” he demanded, and my stomach clenched tightly. Fuck, I had missed this.
I immediately used my star mist to take us somewhere no one would hear me screaming his name into the heavens. When my magic disappeared, Haden looked around briefly to see we were at the pond with oddly warm water.
“Don’t want anyone to hear you, Storm?” His eyes only seemed to get darker. “I hate to break it to you, but there is no distance that will keep them from hearing who makes you feel good.”
Fuck, he was going to kill me with that mouth of his.
“Undo my dress,” I said as I turned.
Haden’s fingers undid the back of my dress and pulled it down so it pooled at my feet. I turned toward him. His hands wasted no time sliding over my body and yanking me against his hard length. I moaned before rubbing my palm down his stomach and grabbing him through his trousers.
“Fuck,” Haden breathed as his eyes closed and his head fell back. Damn, I liked it when he was at my mercy. I liked the idea of him begging me to touch him. I leaned forward and kissed his neck, nipping my teeth against his skin.
“Get on your knees,” I demanded just to see if he would listen. He looked at me for a moment, trying to decide if I was going to leave him again. Haden’s eyes flashed with desire, and I saw the lust burning in them for me. He didn’t question it as he fell to his knees in front of me. I slid my hand through his hair and tugged it back so he was looking up at me, just like he had done to me earlier.
“You look perfect like this.” I smiled when his eyes flashed with frost at my praise. He liked this more than I did.
Haden licked his lips as he watched me, waiting like a good boy. I leaned down like I would kiss him but stopped an inchfrom his lips. His long exhale blew across my face as I smiled. My other hand slid up his throat and gripped his jaw.
“Do you want me to kiss you?”
“Yes,” he breathed.
“How badly?”
