A knock at the door interrupts us, and Frankie goes to answer it.
“Give her twenty more minutes,” she says. “She’s just getting dressed, and then she’ll be down.”
Aven’s voice drifts across the distance. “Ach, it’s a fucking dress, not a puzzle. Twenty minutes?”
“Beauty takes time!” Cat shouts. “Go wait in the lobby with the other men. We’ll keep her safe.”
Aven’s grumbles fade, and Frankie closes the door. “Someone’s in a foul mood. What do you see in him, anyway?”
“Yeah, he’s an odd choice. He was so closed off on the cruise,” Eve says. “We could hardly get two words out of him.”
“For starters, he’s not exactly bad to look at,” I say. “He’s actually got a sweet side once you get to know him. Plus, as you mentioned, we knew each other before this.”
The girls nod.
“Yeah, it was the same for me and Bennett,” Cat says. “We were stuck together in a cabin for one night, and that was all it took. I didn’t even want anyone to know I was fucking him because I was afraid they’d give me shit.”
“And you were right,” Kindra says with a laugh.
While I have them here, I might as well pick their brains a bit. I’ve been going stir-crazy, keeping all of this to myself. There are only so many times I can have a conversation with the mirror before someone calls the padded wagon.
“There’s someone else, too,” I say, and four very interested sets of ears practically swivel my way. “The guy who won theauction the other night. I kind of...liked fucking around with him.”
Eve and Cat join Frankie and Kindra on the bed, and Kindra rolls her hand in the air, urging me to continue.
I raise the dress. “Shouldn’t I put this on first?”
Eve snatches it from my hands and drapes it over the bed. “That dress isn’t going anywhere, honey. Now give us the hot tea.”
I sit on the chair and tell them about Green Guy. I leave out the bit about the cell phone and our plans to meet tonight, just in case Aven is listening, but I let them know we have plans to see each other again. The girls can’t seem to get enough. Each time I have an answer, they have another question.
“He could be anyone,” Frankie says. “Do you remember any tattoos or piercings? I can scour the files and figure out your secret lover’s identity.”
Damn, I wish I’d thought of that myself. “His dick is pierced. Right through the tip.”
Cat, Kindra, and Frankie let out low moans of approval.
“Gotta put something on it to make it more appealing,” Eve says with a shudder.
“Like pussy is much better to look at,” I say with a laugh, and we all burst into giggles because it’s true. No matter the gender, genitals are fucking weird.
Frankie checks her watch and rises to stand. “I’ll scour the files and get back to you tomorrow. Until then?” She shrugs. “Just see how you feel with each of them. No need to make a snap decision now.”
The other girls stand, and Eve takes my hands in hers. “No matter what, follow your heart. Whether that leads you to Aven or Green Guy, we’re here for you.”
“Thanks, Eve.” I look at the other girls. “Thanks, all of you.”
The girls leave me alone to dress. Now if my thoughts would just leave me alone, I’d be doing well.
Chapter Twenty-Six
Aven
Standing outside the lobby elevators, I wait for Quinn to come down from her tower. The other hens clucked through here about ten minutes ago. If Quinn doesn’t appear soon, she can forget seeing the show. Jim waits for no one.
The numbers above the elevator stop at the top floor. That has to be Quinn. I hold my breath and count down as the numbers tick closer to the lobby level.
