“Sure,” Sebastian answered. “Just hip-butted the hall console table.”

Owen chuckled and resumed running the knife through the cheddar cheese. How many times had Sebastian knocked that same table? It was amazing he didn’t have a permanent bruise on his hip.

A second later Sebastian bounced into the kitchen, his injury not slowing him down a bit. “Hey, sweetheart. I missed you today.” Owen leaned back into his hold as Sebastian wrapped his arms around Owen’s waist. Sebastian’s lips were soft and warm as he stretched over Owen’s shoulder and lightly kissed his cheek. He nuzzled into the side of Owen’s neck, sending shiversdown his spine, and enveloping him with the faint scent of salt and outdoors.

“I missed you, too.” And Owen meant it. He’d spent a few lonely hours, just waiting for Sebastian to arrive home, his novel unable to hold his attention.

Sebastian tightened his hold. “It wasn’t the same without you.” His words tempered the joy Owen felt, another reminder he wasn’t with Sebastian doing something they used to enjoy together.

“But you and Matt had a good time?” Owen straightened slightly and focused on finishing the cheese.

“Yeah. It was great out on the water. I really wish you’d been there.”

“Next time.”

“I hope so.” Owen could hear the longing in Sebastian’s voice but thankfully he let the subject drop. “What are you making?” Sebastian asked, although it was pretty obvious from the ingredients Owen had laid out on the granite bench. Mind you, with Sebastian’s mouth pressed to Owen’s neck, he obviously wasn’t paying much attention to what Owen was doing on the benchtop in front of him.

“Nothing special. Just grilled cheese.” Owen placed the thin slithers of cheddar on the slices of sourdough. “I thought you’d like something quick and simple when you got in. I can heat some soup, too, if you want some.”

Sebastian’s breath was warm against his cheek. “It’s not soup I’m hungry for.”

Owen couldn’t keep the smile out of his words. “Just the toast then?”

“Owen.” Sebastian’s voice was low and rumbly, and another shiver coursed through Owen. He knew that brook-no-argument tone and heeded the warning—Owen gave up on the toasted sandwiches and turned in Sebastian’s arms.

Sebastian immediately tilted his face and caught Owen in a blistering kiss, a clash of soft lips, and wet tongue, with a rasp of whiskers as Sebastian angled his mouth to possess Owen more fully.

That’s what Owen liked about Sebastian, he knew what he wanted and he was no holds barred about making sure Owen knew it too. And if the sizzling kiss hadn’t given an indication of Sebastian’s passion, then the hardness pressed against his own growing erection was proof enough.

Sebastian groaned into Owen’s mouth as he ground his hips into Owen, before finally pulling away to take a breath. His eyes were huge and dark as he stared at Owen for a moment.

“C’mon.” Sebastian grabbed Owen’s hand and started leading him from the kitchen in the direction of the hall. Sebastian looked back once he reached the doorway, and added as an afterthought, “You can leave all that, right?”

Owen glanced at the buttered pieces of bread, laden with cheese. “I can. What’s the hurry?”

“I need a shower. I’m all salty.”

“I know.” Owen threaded his fingers into Sebastian’s hair, pulling at the slightly damp strands. He slipped his palm behind Sebastian’s head and pulled him in for another kiss, running his tongue along Sebastian’s bottom lip. “I can taste it. I like it.”

Sebastian pulled away slightly. “I’m salty all over, you know.” He winked and ran his hands down his sides, giving his hips a bit of a shimmy. Owen raised a brow but didn’t complain as Sebastian’s motions brought their groins together. The friction was amazing as Sebastian thrust against him, sending a jolt of pleasure through Owen’s body.

Sebastian leaned in for another kiss. “I like how you feel against me,” he whispered, his breath warm against Owen’s lips.

“Most people are exhausted after exercise but you’re always horny.”

“I’m not most people.”

“No, you’re not,” Owen chuckled.

“Anyway, what are you complaining for? Don’t you want to help me in the shower?” Sebastian waggled his brows.

“You just want an excuse to get your clothes off.”

“I couldn’t care less about gettingmyclothes off. It’syourbody I want to see naked.“ Sebastian wrapped Owen in his arms again, holding tight, and deepening the kiss as he pressed into him. Owen couldn’t help the small, breathy moan that escaped. Sebastian’s passion was contagious, and Owen melted into his touch.

They broke apart and Sebastian pulled him, dragging him toward the bathroom. He laughed as he walked backward, and the sheer happiness on Sebastian’s face making Owen smile. God, he was lucky to have Sebastian in his life; he was always so full of joy and the simplest things made him happy. Sebastian deserved every moment of happiness, given how much joy he spread himself.

Sebastian got the water in the shower running, the steam billowing to fill the bathroom. Owen stood and admired while Sebastian made short work of stripping out of his clothes, dropping shorts and T-shirt to the floor, and kicking off his underwear. It was only when he was stark naked that he looked at Owen, the surprise was evident in his wide eyes. “What are you doing just standing there? C’mon. Strip.” He didn’t stop to wait to see if Owen would respond, instead stepping into the shower cubicle and immediately tilting his face into the flow of water.
