“But true.” The knot in Ravi’s stomach loosened. “I’d like to see where this goes too.”
Chapter Eight
Acoupleofweekslater, Harvey was happy at the positive changes in his life. He was still yawning from his afternoon nap when he walked into the kitchen to find Parker tinkering at the espresso machine. “I see you and my girl are getting along better now.”
“Your girl and I get along just fine,” Parker replied, looking over his shoulder.
Thank God he was treating her with the respect she deserved, but he expected no less given Parker had made countless cups of coffee over the last fortnight since he and the guys had returned from the hugely successful Rocktoberfest gig in Nevada.
Harvey pushed aside the twinge of jealousy he felt whenever he thought of the trip of a lifetime he’d missed out on.But I’ve gained Ravi.If he hadn’t been forced to miss the trip and deal with his bunged-up arm then he never would have spent so much time with Ravi, and seen the possibility of a relationship. It amazed him that Ravi felt the same way and wanted to see where things went between the two of them, although they were taking things super slowly. Hell, they’d only started sleeping together recently. It was nothing like any other relationship Harvey had ever had. There was no quick and dirty sex, it was all slow handjobs and long drawn-out blowjobs, and he loved every minute of what they had building between them.
“Will Ravi be back soon?” Parker asked as he made Harvey an espresso, pulling him from his thoughts.
Harvey took a seat at the table, favouring his weak arm as he sat. “I have no idea. He wasn’t sure how long the interview would take. Actually, I thought he would have messaged by now.”
Parker placed the full cup in front of Harvey and studied him. “I’d take that as good news. The longer the interview goes, the more likely they’re interested, right? They’re not going to waste their time with someone who doesn’t have a good chance.”
“I hope so.”
Parker took a sip of his coffee. “It’ll be good for you to have Ravi here in Sydney permanently. I’m glad things are working out for the two of you.”
“It is. Now if only I could convince you that the east coast is the place to be.”
“Well… about that.”
“What?” Harvey bolted upright. “What’s going on, little bro?”
“I’m taking a leaf out of my big brother’s book and just going for it.” Parker’s grin was wide.
“Holy shit. You mean it?”
Parker nodded. “One hundred percent. Not only will we be in the same hemisphere, and on the same side of the country, we’ll be in the same city.”
“That’s awesome. You know you’re welcome to move in here. It’ll be like when we lived at home together. The good old days.”
“I’m not sure what good old days you’re remembering. I’m recalling arguments about who got to use the bathroom first, and whose turn it was to take out the bins on garbage night.”
“You wound me, brother.” Harvey placed a hand over his heart, trying not to laugh through his mock scowl. “What about all the good times? Remember the first time you went out when you could legally drink—”
“Oh, Jesus. Don’t remind me!” Parker laughed. “I thought we’d made a pact never to mention it again. You’re my big brother, you were meant to stop me drinking.”
“I promise to take better care of you this time. Plus, you’re a light weight. You couldn’t have had more than a couple of drinks.”
Parker rolled his eyes. “A couple too many. I’ve never been able to face rum again.”
“But seriously,” Harvey placed a hand on his. “My place is always here for you, and it would be a blast having you live here.” And he meant every word. They’d lived in separate cities, hell, separate countries, for way to long and he’d offer Parker any support he could. Though somehow he thought that Parker’s living arrangements would be influenced by where Rafe lived. The two of them hadn’t been apart much since getting back to Australia. The overseas trip had been eventful, Parker and Rafe returning as a much loved-up couple.
“Thanks, Harv, I appreciate it, but I think I’m going to make some other arrangements. But we’ll have heaps of time to see each other and hang out.”
“Abseiling?”
Parker snorted out a laugh. “That’d be a big no.”
Harvey shrugged. “Can’t blame a guy for trying.”
“You’ve got therapy this afternoon?”
The cast had only recently been removed and Harvey was now under the care of a top physiotherapist to get his arm and hand back into top physical condition. He nodded. “Yeah, in a couple of hours.”
