“Fucking hell, this is hard,” Amber hissed. “Why couldn’t we do the waltz? At least I could just stand there and rock.”

“You do know that waltzing is more than just swaying to slow music, don’t you?” Evan responded.

“At least I wouldn’t be nearly tripping over my own feet,” she said, stumbling again on the tricky backstep.

“No, you’d be tripping over mine.”

Evan grunted when Amber elbowed him in the ribs.

“Practice makes perfect. Just keep going. The more you repeat the steps, the more it will become second nature to you,” Jules called. “Soon you’ll be cha-cha-ing with the best of them.”

Jules was obviously an optimist, but Evan did as she advised. Over and over and over. And surprisingly it did become a little easier, and even Amber looked like she was improving. As he didn’t have to be so focused on each and every step, he took a quick look around the dance floor.

Dennis and Mei seemed to have it all under control, and Stephanie and Stavros looked like they’d been dancing together all their lives. Thankfully, Susan and Melanie looked like they needed some work and would give him and Amber some competition for last place. But Harry and John?Fuck! They looked like they were born to dance. John was a confident dancer, but Harry? Just wow. He was so goddamned sexy.

Amber reached across and touched his chin. “Better shut your mouth or you’ll start drooling,” she whispered. “I don’t want to slip in a puddle.”

“Holy shit,” he muttered under his breath, unable to tear his gaze away.

She laughed. “You can say that again. Just look at those buns.”

And what a gorgeous arse it was! Harry had no problem with the hip sway, and Evan’s eyes followed every movement and each flex of muscle. That butt, outlined in form-fitting sweats, was a work of art.

“Focus!”

Amber’s elbow made contact with his side again, and he gave her a mock glare. “Spoilsport!”

But he concentrated on the dance again. One, two, cha-cha-cha. One, two, cha-cha-cha.

“I can tell you like him.”

“I do.” Harry saw no reason to lie. “I more than like him.”

John’s brows drew together, and his nostrils flared, tension radiating off him in waves. “Well, you need to cut it out. We’re here for the competition, not to find you a new boyfriend.”

“I’m not looking for a boyfriend,”Liar, liar, pants on fire.If it was Evan, then Harry was all in. “But even if I was, there’s nothing wrong with that. You and I aren’t dating. We’re both single, and being single means we can do what we want.”

John put his hand on his hips. “Evan’s with Amber.”

Shit!Harry had nearly slipped up. Evan and Amber’s arrangement was hush hush, and it wasn’t his to reveal. He backtracked. “Yeah, of course. I just meant you and I can do whatever we want. But if Evanwassingle too, then there’d be nothing to stop us hooking up.”

“Well, that may be, but I don’t see why you have to flirt with him. You couldn’t take your eyes off him all through that dance class when you should have been focusing on me and learning the steps.”

“I was paying attention, you know. I think I mastered the basics pretty well.”And I hardly had much opportunity to check Evan out, because he was behind me most of the time. Not that that had stopped him from trying. He felt a strong pull towards Evan and couldn’t help being fully aware of him beside or behind them during the class.

John scoffed. “Just because you know where to put your feet doesn’t mean you’ve done enough. We have to impress.”

Harry shook his head. “We were one of the best couples in there, so you don’t have to worry.”

“I just don’t think you were taking it seriously. Too much laughing and joking around—”

“Heaven forbid we have a good time!”

“Just keep away from Evan,” John snapped.

Harry’s eyes widened. “Oh, I get it now. You’re jealous.”
