When they finally caught their breath, they pulled apart to lie on their backs and stare at the ceiling. The air from the slow rotation of the fan cooled Steve’s fevered body. The back of Corey’s hand touched Steve’s and he found he liked that simple touch. Wanted more. Heedless of the discomfort, he turned his palm over to grasp Corey’s hand and held it loosely in his own.

Corey’s light chuckle broke the silence as he rolled on his side to face Steve. He propped his head on his elbow, eyes bright, smirking. “It’s been a long time since that’s happened.”

“Since you got off?” That didn’t sound very plausible to Steve, not for someone as gorgeous as Corey.

Corey snorted. “Not exactly. It’s been a long time since I’ve come in my underwear.”

“Well, now that you mention it….”

They both burst into laughter. Steve was amazed at how comfortable he felt in Corey’s company, despite his sticky briefs. He retrieved the damp tea towel and passed it to Corey so he could clean up. “Remember what I said earlier about Christmas Eve?”

“Uh-huh.” Corey nodded as he shimmied from his briefs, swiping at his belly with the cloth. “The worst ever.”

“I’ve changed my mind. I think this might be thebestChristmas Eve ever.”

The sound of Corey’s chuckle filled Steve’s chest with warmth, further obliterating any discomfort he was feeling. Yep, laughter really was the best medicine.
