“That’s fine with me.The more, the merrier,” El chirped hoping her voice didn’t sound as deprived for sex as she thought it did.
Willow looked back and forth between El and Marcus a couple times.
“You do realize the whole point of bringing me here was to ensure that she won’t get pregnant, right?”Willow blurted out.
“I know, but we’re all still just too nervous,” Marcus replied honestly.
“Are you never going to touch her again?I mean that would be the only way to guarantee she doesn’t get pregnant.Otherwise, you’ll just have to trust in this process,” Willow explained.
Marcus seemed to consider what Willow was saying, which made El almost giddy with excitement. If Marcus agreed, El was going to have to tell Persia she’d have to take a rain check.
“We agreed to wait,” Marcus said quietly.
“You guys agreed to wait.I agreed to have Willow keep monitoring me so that wecould,” El clarified.
“It’s too dangerous,” Marcus, repeated the same line they all used.
El rolled her eyes. There was no arguing with them.At this rate, she was going to have to go buy a damn vibrator just to survive. She didn’t understand how they were all doing it.I mean there were ways to get around sex, but nothing was quite as gratifying. She missed the connection with her mates just as much as the pleasure.
“Okay, well let’s just go to Persia’s.At least I can still eat sweets,” El said sarcastically.
Marcus waited until Willow was out of sight before he stepped forward to El.
“We will touch you again,” he whispered close to her ear.
“Until then, just keep your distance,” she growled.
Having them close but not being able to truly have them had run its course and El was sick of it.She’d beat them at their own game.No more fooling around of any kind, until they were ready to just trust in Willow’s plan she was done.We caught up with Willow and Adam had joined her at the front door.We piled into a car, and Adam told the driver Persia’s bakery address.
El tried to focus on her upcoming visit with Persia. She hadn’t seen her in longer than she cared to think about.Through all of the craziness in her life, Persia had been her home base. There was something so comforting about walking into the bakery and listening to Persia talk about her latest flavors and concoctions.Persia knew about Ryan, so El would be able to have a semi-truthful and normal conversation about her life as well.
El felt Marcus’ eyes on her the entire trip. She didn’t acknowledge him, though.Just because he was staring at her longingly didn’t make her any less frustrated with him; sexually or otherwise. They pulled up to the bakeshop, and El hurried inside, desperate to see her friend. She followed the smells back to where Persia could usually be found.
“Persia,” she called as she moved through the swinging doors to the back of the bakery.
“El!”Persia called back leaping off her stool and rushing over to hug El.
“It smells amazing, so I already highly approve of your new flavors,” El laughed.
“I’m so glad you’re here.I’ve missed you.Did you bring your posse?”Persia joked.
“Always, but they’re being good, sitting out front. We’ll just stock them full of goodies and coffee, and they’ll leave us be,” El said.
“Okay, let me get an assortment of my new items to take to them,” Persia replied before taking a long drink of her coffee.
“So, what’s new?Are you and the hubby seeing eye to eye any better?”
“We’re getting there,” El replied not really wanting to focus on her relationship issues.
Persia must have picked up on El’s tone because she didn’t press her on the topic.Persia moved over to her warming racks and started pulling out all kinds of delicious treats.
“Here try this one. It’s a chocolate chip muffin, but I added peanut butter chips in it as well and a touch of nutmeg.I think it’s divine,” Persia said, shoving a giant muffin in El’s hand.
El bit into it with gusto and moaned as the delicious sweet treat melting in her mouth.
“This is good,” she mumbled through her mouthful of muffin.
Persia’s eyes lit up with pride.
