I carried us into my ensuite running a hot shower for us with my dual shower heads. Lisa was even more beautiful when wet. Her dark hair glistened, reflecting the bathroom light much in the same way a dark lake reflects the moon.

We washed one another, enjoying the feel of each other. It was hard not to fuck her for a second time this morning. I felt like a crazy, hormonal teenager again. I didn't know I still had it in me to act this way.

"Let's go on a run, Little Warrior."

She smiled at my nickname, nodding her head. I had us go on our morning run around my neighborhood, hoping someone would come out and see us together. I wanted people to know that I was with the most attractive woman on the planet.

When we approached my house, there was a familiar black mustang parked outside. Her fiery red hair could be seen from a mile away. Liv held Abi on her hip, with Lucas behind her. He had them both wrapped in his arms, but his gaze was on me.

Lucas wasn’t a fighter, but he wasn’t useless either. He could throw a decent punch. Against a normal guy, he could win a fight, but I was not a normal guy. If he decided he was upset about me dating Lisa, then I would let him get one hit in on me. That was all he would get, though. One punch. I wouldn’t let him take Lisa from me. As his elder, I didn’t have to listen to his demands, but I would put his mind at ease for both Lisa and Liv's sake.

"Remember, behave," I heard Liv whisper to Lucas as we approached.

I loved that girl and her beautiful heart. My sweet daughter.

I smiled, feeling so happy that Liv was on my side. She had squealed excitedly when I told her and Carter how I felt about Lisa last night over the phone. It surprised me to know that she thought Lisa, and I were a brilliant match. She said I could use a woman like her, and that she could use a man like me. I wasn’t sure what she meant by that, but I was glad she approved. Now if only I could count on Izzy approving, too, but she won't. I was sure she would only push further away from me.

"To what do I owe this visit, Twinkle Toes?" I asked Liv, using her preferred nickname.

"We need to talk about Jackass Porter. Also, Lucas wants a word with you." She pointed to Lucas with her thumb, as if he couldn't speak for himself at the moment.

"Alright, let's go inside, away from prying eyes and ears."

I guided us all inside, pouring everyone a cup of coffee. Lisa was holding Abi now, not exactly sure when she grabbed the baby. Seeing Lisa with a baby warmed my heart, but also worried me. Could we have children together? I feel like I was too old to be starting over on raising a kid.

"What's up?" I asked them as I leaned back against my counter, crossing my ankles.

"First, Carter and I got Chris to keep quiet about what happened last night. Lisa will have to keep up appearances, though, so she needs to see him anytime she's around her dad. He knows I'll castrate him if he ever lays a hand on her again." She beamed widely at me, feeling proud of herself.

"Two, Lucas and I have made it to where it would be very difficult for a judge to annul our marriage for no reason. We have also spoken with my boss and let him know the situation with Lucas' dad. I told him how he would try to get me fired. Thankfully, my boss believed me and told me I would not lose my job because of him." Liv was easing my mind, and Lisa's, with every word.

I know Lisa's biggest worry for most of the night was Lucas and Liv's safety. Little Abi's giggle filled the room, and we all grew silent as we looked at her. They dressed Abi in an adorable white dress covered in printed strawberries. She had learned to smile and clap, and was doing just that as Lisa played with her.

"She'd make a great mom. Could you give her that kind of life?" Lucas asked me as we watched Lisa and Abi from a distance.

“I hope to. I know she would make a wonderful mother. My age is a big factor, I know that, but I want to give her everything she asks for and more.”

Lucas was silent for a while, causing me to turn to the side and look at him. He was deep in thought as he continued to watch Lisa.

“You better. She deserves it. Don’t hurt her Davis. I know I can’t fight, but I’ll make you pay if you hurt her.” I nodded my head, fully agreeing.

I would make you happy, Lisa.

Lisa’s P.O.V.

“So? When did this happen?” Liv asked me, taking sweet Abi back.

She was asking about Davis and I. I could see Lucas was talking to Davis about something in the kitchen. They were keeping their voices low, letting me know they were more than likely talking about me. I smiled at Liv with the heat of my blush staining my cheeks.

“Not long. He saved me one day, and then he started to train me after I saw your fight. Things just kind of escalated from there.”

“I am glad. He’s good for you, Lisa. Davis is a wonderful man, and this is the first time I’ve seen him interested in a woman. I am not going to lie. I thought he was secretly gay or something,” she laughed.

“Really?”

I did not know that Davis had been so conservative before me. I just assumed that he had many women. He was handsome beyond reason, any woman’s wet dream. How could he not have women falling over themselves to get to him? I was sure he did, but I guess he denied them all.
