Page 67 of Romeo's Deal

Both of our families are here at my parents’ land. The barn has been transformed into a winter wonderland just like my bride-to-be wanted.

Both of our mothers have done everything as she asked, if not more. I know that Nell will love everything they have done for us.

Lights hang from every corner, and a big-ass winter chandelier hangs in the center of the barn, with snowflakes and flowers included.

Asking Nell to marry me was the best decision I have ever made. She said yes, of course she did, but I did it right out of one of her favorite romance books. That alone got me a million fucking brownie points with her.

“You nervous?” Ash asks from my side.

“No,” I simply say.

He is my best man, because there is no other man who would fit the job.

“You are tying yourself to one woman for the rest of your life.”

“Leave him alone, Asher,” my father calls to him, making the man laugh.

“I will gladly tie myself to her, brother; she is my everything.”

“Lame,” he jokes, making my groomsmen laugh.

“Will you two stop it,” my mother scolds us, making us laugh harder.

I elbow Asher in the gut, and he makes anoomphsound. When the guys laugh again, my mother gives me the stink eye and I stop, pressing my lips together to stop myself from laughing.

I look to Nell’s mother and wink when I see her smiling warmly at me.

Music begins, my spine straightens, and my palms grow clammy—I don't know why, because today I'm marrying my best friend, my soulmate, my partner.

She looks fucking stunning in her ivory gown. It is a dress made of floral lace with long sleeves and a dip between her big plump breasts, making my dick hard, which is bad timing.

She decided against a forward veil, wanting it pinned at the back of her head, as she wanted to see me properly while she walks to me.

The jewelry that she fell in love with In Hawaii sits on her body, the necklace at the hollow of her throat, sparking in the sun.

Her father shakes my hand, handing me his daughter to love, protect, and respect. He knows I will do what he is asking. With a kiss to his daughter’s cheek, we turn to face the priest.

He does his thing, and we say our vows to each other.

“Romeo, you were not something I was expecting. When you saved me that day, I saw you as my knight in a well-tailored suit.” She winks at me. “You made me love love again. You, Romeo De Mssy, are my real-life book boyfriend and I will always love you.”

People giggle around us at her calling me her ‘book boyfriend.’ It is a running joke with us now.

“Nell, I thought that I would spend my life alone, yet surrounded by people.” Tears fill her eyes, as we have had this conversation before. “After finding you, I knew that you were mine to keep. Not a day goes by that I am not thankful for you being outside Comfort Cup that day, or for that worthless fucker for cheating on you, leaving you to be mine forever. Sorry.” I look at the priest, who smiles.

Clearly, he has heard worse than what I said.

“I promise to love, cherish, and protect you for as long as I live, baby. We wagered a deal that would last a lifetime and this deal cannot be broken.”

“I love you,” she mouths, and I repeat it back to her.

“Well, now that was something, folks, but now all I have to do is grant you what you both want. By the powers vested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife. Romeo, you may now kiss your new bride.”

I cup her face, like I know she loves, it makes her putty in my hands, and I kiss my new wife.

Fuck, I am married.

Damn, it feels good.
