Chapter Fourteen
Romeo
My body is covered in sweat and I only played golf with the men in my family. My father, as usual, kicked my ass since he golfs more than me.
I need a cool shower and to chill before we get ready to head down to the poolside bar for some drinks with the family. There is no formal wedding event tonight, but the guys decided that we all need some chill time with a few whiskeys by the pool.
Using my card to open my door, my name is called before I can push it open.
Turning, I see one of my younger cousins jogging toward me.
“Aria, is everything okay?”
“Yeah, so listen. I am just going to come out and tell you; I am sure that Aunt Renata will anyway.”
“Aria,” I say, waving my hand for her to hurry up, and my stomach tightens with the feeling I am not going to like what she is about to tell me.
“At the salon, when we were getting our nails done—which is a waste of fucking money but whatever…”
“Language.”
“Daniella was a bitch to Nell; said some nasty shit to her. Aunt Renata and some of the other women defended Nell, but she got upset and left early.”
“Fuck.” I run my fingers through my hair, knowing that I should have put my foot down about letting my ex come here.
I understand that her and Mia are friends, but Daniella is all about the fucking drama.
I lean in, kissing the top of Aria’s head.
“Thanks, sweetheart. I owe you one.”
She taps her chin with her fingers, and I cock a brow at her.
“I will hold you to that, cousin.”
“Fuck off. I will see you later, maybe,” I add, as I do not know what I am walking into when I step into my room.
Aria leaves, and I step inside.
The room is bright, with the windows open, a slight breeze blowing in, and the TV is on low. I can’t work out what Nell is watching. She is curled up against the arm of the sofa, with her Kindle in her lap.
Her head comes up, and she looks at me, and I wince seeing her red puffy eyes.
“What happened?” I march over to her, siting on the sofa next to her, my knees brushing against her thigh.
She shrugs. “Just some shit with your ex. God, Romeo, how the hell did you hook up with her? She is a terrible person.”
I scoff with a grin. “I know. She was okay at first but it went to her head what my money could do for her.” I sigh.
“So, would you have still broken up with her if she hadn’t cheated?”
Running my fingers through my hair, I sit back, removing the device from her lap and pulling her legs onto my lap. Reaching for her bare foot, and adding pressure on the arch of her foot, I start rubbing.
A moan slips free from her lips, her eyes closing.
“That is good.”
“Yeah? You like what I can do with my fingers?” I ask, my voice dropping, my arousal taking over.
