“It’s better than I ever imagined,” he whispers back and slides his hands to my ass, lifting me up slightly so he can thrust back into me.

I lay on his chest, my face turned to the side, listening to his heartbeat as he leisurely slides in and out. I grind down, meeting each one of his thrusts, but this is as slow and leisurely as our making out was. A fire that we slowly fan into an inferno.

The heat in me builds and builds. His hands slide over me everywhere, teasing, coaxing, tantalizing, learning my every curve.

It morphs into something more intense, something fierce. Our lips lock, and we move as one. The sound of the ocean waves, our bodies slapping together, and our gasps is all I can hear as he fucks into me, over and over.

My body coils tighter, my orgasm just on the other side. I grind down into him and reach for my clit, stroking it. I arch backwards, screaming silently, slamming my hips down into his.

“Oh, shit, that’s it, Omega, ride it. I’ve got you.”

A high-pitched sound escapes from behind my teeth. Elijah holds me closer, thrusting up into me. I can feel his knot growing, but he pulls me back, roaring into my shoulder as he finds his release.

We lay there panting, the heat that burned through us slowly dissipating.

“So much better than my dreams,” I whisper to him.

He laughs softly and pulls me against his chest, kissing the top of my head. “We need to talk, but we can do it later. Right now, I just want to hold you, if that’s okay.”

I think of all the times I was alone, wanting arms, anyone’s arms, around me, and have a moment where I wonder how it is that this alpha knows what I need without me ever saying a word.

“You’re safe, Sofia.”

A dark part of me wakes up and whispers that I’m not.

But I am for right now, so I shove it away from me and surrender to this alpha’s promise.

Chapter 13

Sofia

Elijah pulls me down between him and Mack and pulls my legs up over his thighs. There’s a romance playing on the TV, and the wind is howling. The sun is not shining in Sunshine Cove today; the storm that has been threatening since dawn is finally here.

Danger bounces off the couch and snags a squeaky bone and tosses his head around viciously.

“Get it, Danger. Good boy,” Mack says and tosses another one to him.

Devon puts a plate of mini quiches on the coffee table. Danger spots them and charges over only to be picked up by Devon. He lets out a protesting warble, his little legs running a million miles an hour.

“No, no. They are not for you. But I have this for you, little beast.” The alpha pulls out a braided bully stick.

Danger launches himself at it and scurries off where he can see us and still murder his treat.

“He is adorable,” Devon says in amusement.

“Yeah, he is. When I saw him, I just knew he was mine. It was love at first sight. Instant tears, a smile that wobbled but was bigger than I’ve ever worn. He saved me.”

Elijah strokes my lower leg. “Well, we’re glad you have him, then.”

Mack starts combing his fingers through my hair. I shiver and shift my weight slightly so he’s got more access. Oh, god, I could die happy right now. My body tingles as his fingers drag lightly through over my scalp.

“I like that.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah,” I say softly.

He is gentle, but I find myself lying there, completely ignoring the movie.
