Spencer threw her visor back down and revved her engine. “Lesson will have to wait, Bunny.”
Grabbing me, Leo set me back on the blue bike and nodded. “See you at home.”
Once I was on the bike, Spencer peeled off the sidewalk with Leo following just behind us. Zipping off into the night, Spencer leaned low over the handle bars.
Fuck. Are we really running from the cops?

KIERA
Spencer’s drivingwas terrifying enough on a regular day, but given the excuse of running from the cops, she started hitting speeds I didn’t know were possible.
“Wooo!” Her voice carried back to me muffled as she pumped one fist into the air.
I squeezed her waist tighter, pressing my head into the alcove of her shoulders as I prayed she was keeping her eyes on the road.
The cops didn’t have a chance of keeping up with us at this speed, but the sound of their sirens echoing in the distance was enough to get my heart racing. And the sexy menace of a biker between my legs was enough to keep it that way.
As we rounded a curve in the road, Leo’s red Ducati pulled up alongside us, revving its engine in greeting. I loosened my fingers just enough to shoot her a little wave before Spencer revved her own engine, picking up speed.
As Leo sped up to keep in line with us, Spencer accelerated, keeping the two of us just a few feet ahead of Leo. Then, on a straight stretch, she kicked it into high gear, merging into Leo’s lane with another cocky rev.
It was impossible to hear her voice clearly back here, but no words were needed. She was fucking with Leo, challenging her clear as day.Has she fucking lost it?
We were on a public road, and going any faster would take this trip from risky to downright perilous.
But Leo wasn’t one to back down from a challenge. Twisting her handlebar, she zoomed toward us before swerving into the left lane, shooting Spencer a little salute, and racing off into the night.
Spence leaned forward, pulling my arms tighter around us as she picked up speed to match. I wasn’t sure how they could even see the road at this point — everything faded into streaks of light and shadow as we ripped through the air
But if there was anyone I trusted to navigate the blur of motion, it was these two. I kept my grip on Spencer tight as my two bikers sped and swerved and weaved around one another. As we got to a narrow stretch closer to home, Leo pulled back on her handlebars, lifting the bike into a wheelie that made my stomach turn.
Her balance on that rear wheel was precarious, though Leo’s expert handle on the bike made it look easy. I watched her drive like that for three, four, five seconds before I had to screw my eyes shut.I can’t watch.
But then, as if she could tell how nervous I was, I felt Spencer tense her shoulders and pull back. My stomach lurched as her front wheel left the pavement, popping a wheelie of her own.
My heart burned in my chest as gravity shifted around us. I felt the pressure of her back pressing closer to my chest, the lurch in my stomach as she picked up speed. The night sky was sweeping above us, and despite my terror, it felt like we were flying right through the stars.
By the time we pulled up to the house, the police sirens had faded into an afterthought, but I still clung tight to Spencer untilthe bikes were parked by the carriage house. Leo hopped off first, offering me a hand down from Spence’s Suzuki.
I’d have taken the help happily, even if I’d trusted my shaky knees.
But while I was barely keeping my snacks down, these fools were laughing so hard it echoed off the trees that lined the property. “How’s my dust taste, Moore?”
Spencer threw up her hands. “Oh please. If I wasn’t going slow for Kiera’s sake, you wouldn’t have had a chance.”
“You call that slow?” I balked, “You’re lucky I didn’t fall off the back. What’s wrong with you? That was so reckless!”
Spencer smirked, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. “I’m a pro, baby. You know I’d never risk hurting precious cargo.”
Heat flushed my cheeks as Leo caught my gaze. “If you think that was bad…”
I knew she was talking about the driving, but there was a darker truth lingering in those words. The Hollow and The Gauntlet had confirmed just how dangerous my angels could be, but I hadn’t realized how easy it would be to fall in with their unsavory patterns.
But now, I’d covered up a murder and run from the police in the same night. And instead of panicking or turning myself in, I was sitting in their driveway laughing.
Sure, it's easy enough now. But tonight is probably a drop in the bucket compared to what they’ll expect from me. Can I handle more?
