Wily’s head is bobbing before I even finish. “I love it.”
“Really?”
“Yes! Nolan was the best years of my life. And then we could be close to Carson and Nylah. And Blake and Grady are only a few hours from there. How cool would that be?”
“So cool.” I grin but continue to worry my lip.
“Hey.” Wily kisses my nose. “The kids are gonna be fine. They can handle the move. We’ll talk to them about it, ease them in slowly. It’s all gonna be okay.”
I suck in a breath and nod, excitement buzzing through me. “Okay.”
“I love you.” Wily lifts me off my feet, and I gasp in surprise before wrapping my arms around his neck and murmuring, “I love you too.”
We continue to make out, lost in our little love bubble and the excitement of all that’s awaiting us.
Oh my gosh, this is huge. And thrilling. And maybe a little scary too, but as long as I’ve got my man and my kids with me, I know I’m going to be okay.
And teaching. Ah! I’ve been wanting it for so long. My own classroom. A chance to really impact the next generation. I can’t believe Wily’s willing to do this for me.
Actually, I can.
He is the sweetest, kindest man, and he sees me. He really sees me.
Deepening the kiss, I pour as much gratitude as I can into it. I need him to know just how much he means to me.
His appreciative moan is delicious, and I could stay at the top of this stairwell making out with my man all night… except that there’s a knock at the door.
We pull apart, Wily’s dazed expression sharpening when voices carry up the stairs.
“Tyrell and Dani.” He grins. “They’re finally here.”
CHAPTER 35
DANI
The second we walk in the door, we are swamped.
Literally.
Every adult and child who hasn’t gone to bed yet surrounds us to the point that we can’t even make enough room to shut the front door.
“Move, people!” Tyrell has to call over the excited crowd before we all shuffle forward a few steps so he can close the door and stop all the delicious heat inside this house from escaping.
Tucker, a little overwhelmed by the cacophony, starts to squawk until he’s plucked right out of my arms.
“Come say hi to your Uncle Wily, little man.” The giant takes my baby away, walking toward a different room of the house and being followed by five excited children.
His cries die out within moments and I’m soon hearing his cute baby laugh, my heart melting as I hug Satch and listen to my boy play with his cousins.
“It’s so good to see you.” She squeezes me close. “And Tucker is adorable! I can’t wait to give him a cuddle.”
“Yeah, the Pied Piper of Football Frat kind of took off with him before I even had a chance to get a decent look at the guy,” Sienna grumbles, hugging me as soon as Satch has let me go.
I giggle. “You’ll get a turn.” Then I can’t help whining. “I wish we had longer. I’m so sorry we’re late.”
“Travel can suck,” Zander empathizes, grinning down at me before pulling me into a hug. “So good to see you, Dani.” He kisses the top of my curls before letting me go and handing me off to a very pregnant Nylah.
I ooh and aah over her beautiful belly, score myself a sideways hug from Carson, and am then squished between Blake and Grady.
