Though my eyes were closed, I quietly enjoyed the attention he was giving me. Eventually he moved his hand from my butt cheek to the exposed side of my face, tenderly rubbing the back of his knuckles against the warm skin of my cheek.
“How’s this handsome face of yours doing?” he asked.
“Good. I like it when you make it rub against the sheets like that. I like the way it feels.”
Another laugh rumbled in his chest.
“I know you do, my pup.” He kissed the top of my head while he continued to stroke my face.
James was always on top of asking how I was doing, and I tried to remember to check in with him too.
“How is your dick doing? I didn’t almost squeeze it off, did I?”
“Close, but I managed to survive.”
As both of us laughed, he lightly pinched my cheek. The next time his hand began to move down my fingers, I wrapped them around his fingers and flattened my palm against his. Our hands rested perfectly against one another’s, and he placed another kiss on top of my head. He was happy.
“What’s your day like?” I asked.
“It has started out incredibly, so it’s going to be a great day,” he replied and squeezed my hand. “What time are you meeting Chase?”
It had been several weeks since I’d first met Chase. We had talked on the phone a few more times, and we texted daily since our first face-to-face meeting. A few days ago, we’d made plans to meet for coffee at Three Brothers Coffee. I was both excited and a little nervous.
“Nine thirty.”
“I have some meetings this morning; however, I’ll be able to step out if you need me and call.”
“I think I’ll be okay. He’s nice, and I remember playing the balloon game with him that one Christmas Eve.” I sighed as I thought back to that night.
“What are you thinking?”
“Just how he was right there, and she still kept him from me. It’s frustrating.”
“I know, Brandon.” He kissed my head again and suggested that we get moving for the day.
I pushed my mom out of my mind and was determined not to let her wreck the day. I was feeling pretty good after being roughly but lovingly used by James. I made faces in the mirror as I looked at my hair. It wasn’t quite right, but I’d fixed it a couple of times already. I was probably just going to leave it as it was. Just when I reached up to touch my hair again, James spoke up.
“Leave it, Brandon.”
“I know. I just want to look nice.”
“You do look nice. And in case it has escaped you, Chase isn’t interested in your hair or what you wear. He’s looking forward to spending time with you and getting to know you.”
“I know. But he’s a model and all—”
“Wasa model, Brandon. He’s not a model anymore.”
“Kind of weird that we were both into modeling when we were younger, huh?”
“It’s something you both share.” James put his hands on my shoulders and guided me out of the bathroom. Once in our bedroom, he wrapped his arms around me and hugged me. “He’s more interested in moving forward with you as father and son.”
“Okay. I know, I mean.”
James let go of me and gave me a kiss.
“I hope it’s not awkward today without you or Morgan there.”
“You’ll be at the coffee shop, which is familiar for you. And lots of people will be around, including Andrew and Salem.”
