Her heels kissed the floor as she walked toward me. Each click jarred me, but in a good way. My body began to react, and my dick stiffened. Even though she was probably well aware of the fact that I had grown hard, her eyes never left mine.

Tabitha reached out and took hold of the two charms that hung from my chain. She looked away from my eyes to examine the charms. I remembered Elise tugging on my necklace the night I’d moved in with her. Elise had almost broken it that night. I should have known then that she was trouble. I didn’t want this broken, and if I felt like Tabitha was going to yank it off my neck, I’d say the safe word. I didn’t think she’d do that, but the silence between us was starting to worry me.

“Please don’t break it.”

Tabitha’s eyes flicked up to mine.

“I will remove it. I’m sorry,” I apologized.

“Andrew, relax. I’m not going to break this.”

“It’s my brothers’ initials. Like mine.”

Why was I so nervous?

Tabitha nodded as a smile appeared on her face. She gently removed her hand, and the charms laid against my skin again.

“Thank you. I’ll remove it.”

“Andrew, I never told you to remove it. I told you to remove your clothes and shoes, not your necklace.”

I closed my eyes for a brief moment and tried to get myself to settle the fuck down. Her eyes were still watching me when I opened mine. I felt as though an explanation was in order.

“May I explain, Mistress Tabitha?”

“Yes, I’m very interested in hearing why you feared I would break your necklace. But before you do, I’d like for you to go ahead and kneel where I asked you to.”

She turned on the balls of her feet and led the way. I followed and then knelt where she had pointed. Tabitha stood before me with her hands clasped in front of her.

“Go ahead, Andrew.”

“I made the mistake of not removing it when Elise told me to remove everything. When she saw it, she freaked out. She yelled and carried on about why the direction was so difficult for me to understand. I explained what it was and that it was as important to me as wedding bands or crosses were to some people.”

“What did she do?”

“She grabbed it and pulled on it. It wasn’t the best material, and I could feel it digging into the back of my neck, stretching. She didn’t break it then, but eventually she did.”

“When did she break it?”

“I had gone out one night with Josh and Brandon. She knew when I gave her a second chance that I wasn’t going to stop my weekly night out with them. It was so important to Brandon, and Josh and I never missed it. I think she thought she’d be able to change my mind, or that I wouldn’t want to drive all the way from Riverside to L.A. She went along with it for a while, then she snapped about it one night when I got home. She just yanked it right off my neck. She didn’t want me to have friends. She wanted me away from the club. Elise was extremely jealous and possessive. This is my fourth chain. Each time she broke it, I went out and bought a new one.”

I closed my mouth to swallow. That was a bit more explanation than she expected.

“It’s appalling that someone who supposedly loved you would have such little regard for something that is understandably important to you.”

“I thought it would have been simple for her to understand why I needed the necklace and why it was important to me. She had just lost her husband. But the necklace with my brothers’ initials was lost on her.” I huffed out a laugh. “She would often tease me because I told her that I needed the necklace. It became common place for me to take it off before play or before I got into bed at night.”

“The only time I will ask you to remove it is if we’re doing something in a session where it could be a safety issue or if there is a chance it could be broken. Do you understand?”

“Yes, Mistress Tabitha.”

“Now, sit back on your heels and let me look at you,” she instructed. I sat back and kept my eyes on the chair. She began to walk around me counterclockwise.
