I could see how this would be a great way for a new bottom or sub to find a safe play partner. I thought back to when I was brand new and learning everything from Jacob.
“It’s a good way to make sure they stay safe and unharmed. Many new faces don’t know or understand themselves or their needs completely, so it makes it difficult for them to find a good partner for their needs. I try to help them discover themselves while giving them a safe environment to do so.”
“That is really a great idea. So, you have three that you’re caring for?”
“Yes, at the moment three. Brandon is my newest. Right now, he needs the most attention from me. My other two have been with me for a while. They know what to ask, and for the most part, they can articulate what they need and want out of a session. Brandon,” James began and closed his eyes, shaking his head. “Brandon is nowhere near that yet. He will get there, though.”
“He seemed very respectful,” I commented.
“He is, yes. But he is a danger to himself right now. You may have noticed the red necklace. That is an indicator to any Top or Dom in the club that no one is to approach him to negotiate a session without me present.”
Though I was curious and would sit here and listen to this man talk all day long if he wanted, I felt that anything further regarding Brandon was private and between the two of them. James shifted our conversation away from Brandon and to my reason for being there.
“I know we touched on some details over the phone, and we can approach this a few different ways. We could either arrange a session with a bottom, and you orchestrate it on your own while I observe. Or we can arrange a guided session with a bottom where I will actively be involved.”
“What would the details be for the option of you actively involved?”
“I would openly provide suggestions as you go along. It could be giving you a pointer about body position, or why an action is good, or not so good. Some find this very helpful, while others find it to be intrusive.”
“I think it would be very helpful to me for you to be actively involved in the session. Since I have only been a submissive, there might be things that my mind isn’t trained to think about. So, having an experienced Top right there will be helpful for me.”
“Very well. That won’t be a problem. Just to elaborate a little on the fact that you have spent a fair amount of time as a submissive, that is a very good thing,” James said. He leaned forward and rested his elbows on his legs closest to his knees.
“It is?” I asked. My eyes were drawn to the bulge pressing against his pants between his parted legs.
“Yes, you already know how a submissive, or a bottom, might think in a particular situation. In the back of your mind, you will be aware and cognizant of that. Not all Tops have that knowledge. Some do, but not all.”
“Do you?”
A broad smile spread across his face.
“Oh, yes. I do. It is one of my greatest tools as a Top. Before I begin a session, I know how I want it to go and what I seek for the end result. I know how to manipulate the bottom to arrive at the desired destination. Visualizing the scene before you step into a room is invaluable.”
I nodded along with him and gave his words serious thought. He was absolutely right. I wondered if Jacob had been like that.
“Aside from the well-being of your subject, you must always remember that every action has a reaction. While you can’t always predict what a bottom’s reaction will be, you must always have in your head the idea of how you think they will react.”
“Every action has a reaction,” I repeated and thought more about it. This man was very experienced; how did he not have a submissive of his own?
“One thing that I wanted to discuss with you was from our phone conversation; you mentioned you were a masochist.” James paused for a moment and then said, “You need to receive physical pain.”
“That’s right, though, it’s been seven months. I don’t know if I still feel the same about it.”
James rubbed his jaw with his thumb and index finger as he thought about what I had said. I honestly didn’t think that I would be able to accept pain from anyone other than Jacob.
“You mentioned that in private, you often acted as a Top and reprimanded with a crop. I’m curious, and if you don’t mind my asking, do you recall becoming aroused when you delivered the punishment?”
Though I was slightly embarrassed, I admitted to being aroused when I struck the pillow sub. In fact, I felt a little embarrassed talking to this man about strutting around my bedroom and swatting a pillow. But I was sure that it was all useful information for James. When I admitted to being turned on immensely while dominating a pillow, he nodded and smiled.

The week had beenlong and emotionally heavy. It had been the tenth anniversary of my brothers’ deaths, and the tenth anniversary of my mother’s death was right around the corner.
