“I am sure, Michan. I need you gentlemenhere.”
“But we could help. We want Sir Klyn back, too,” Ethanadded.
“I know you guys do. We will bring him home,” Octavia promised as she hugged Ethan and then kissed hischeek.
She gathered Sean up in her arms and kissed hisforehead.
“As soon as I get home, I will take a crop to your asses. I will only be gone for a few days and will be home as soon as I can,” Octaviapromised.
“With Sir Klyn?” Sean made herpromise.
“Yes, Sean, withKlyn.”
“And River?” Seanquestioned.
Octavia looked over Sean’s shoulder and met myeyes.
“Yes, with River,” shereplied.
She finally let go of Sean and bid us goodnight. The five of us made our way to our quarters, and before I fell asleep, the young men approachedme.
“We want to go too, River,” Ethanstated.
“That is not up for me to decide. I am okay with you guys wanting to come along, but it is the Queen that you mustconvince.”
“There is no chance of that,” Michansaid.
“She is trying to protect you guys. It will bedangerous.”
“Turn me,” Seanrequested.
“What?” I asked and stared athim.
“Sir Klyn helped me out. He encouraged me to join the pageant after my pop died. He helped me burn him. I had no one to help me, but Sir Klyn stepped up. I want to help rescue him. So, if that means that I need to be part vampire, then that is okay with me,” Seandeclared.
“Me too,” Michansaid.
“And me,” Ethaninsisted.
“And me,” Liam joinedin.
I pushed myself up and thought for a few moments. It would be much easier with the four of them withus.
“The Queen is very lucky to have such loyal and brave young men that are willing to do anything for her,” I said and looked each of them in theeye.
“Will we be like you after you turn us?” Michanasked.
“No, not quite. You will be mostly like Queen Octavia and Sir Klyn. Each of you might develop an enhancement on one of your existing senses, like hearing or sight. But that is unknown. And to be honest, I have never bitten anyone with the intention of turning them. The only time is when I am absorbing their sins and they are neardeath.”
“How long will it take to turn us?” Liamasked.
“Yeah, we want to be ready to go with you guys in the morning,” Ethanadded.
“Easy guys, you will not be ready to go when the sun is up. After I bite each of you, you will be restless. You are going to have to remember to try and be as calm aspossible.”
“Will it hurt?” Seanasked.
“I will be honest. It will not be pleasant. Try to think of Queen Octavia doingit.”
