Finally, I find her looking at the sky outside the window. She seems to be hundreds of miles away.

My presence awakens her from the fog and when she finds me standing in front of her, she gives me a full smile.

“Are you okay?” I ask her.

“More than okay,” she answers. “I can't wait to get home and finally have you all to myself.”

My body fills with warmth, affection. Just that simple words give me the strength I need to show her I can be a worthy partner and husband.

I can't wait to do all those boring things couples do, go shopping, make our bed together, fall asleep watching a bad movie, even doing taxes with her sounds exciting.

I want it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The chime sound gives a warning that we are about to land.

I say goodbye to her with a kiss; I know that my body loses control quickly when I'm with her, and I need to wake up little Ben.

“Little one, wake up, we’ve arrived,” I whisper while I move his hanging feet, his eyes open slowly. “Don't worry, in a few hours you'll be home with your mom and dad.”

He looks around with sleepy eyes, while he lets me buckle him up.

“You can look out the window if you like.”

As soon as I say those words, his energy returns to his body automatically, sticking his nose against the cold glass.

I sit in my place, dropping my weight on the seat. I'm so damn exhausted, mentally and physically, I need to get home.

Dante watches me from his seat with worried eyes. His belt is fastened and his position totally upright.

He looks tense.

“Welcome home, brother.” I'm so happy to have him here with me.

“It still seems unreal.”

“Tell me about it, I'm talking to a dead man.”

He chuckles.

Fuck, that’s was my father laugh. Damn it, the hairs on my arm are standing up.

Gravity builds up in the center of my body as the plane begins to make its descent.

Dante holds tight onto the seat and his breathing runs fast, his eyes shut tight.

How could I not have thought of about it? The last time Dante had boarded a plane was on his trip, that's why he's so quiet.

“Hey,” I call him. “You're gonna be okay, it's almost over.”

He nods without looking at me.

I’m about to reach out to him when Amira appears. She sits in front of him and holds his hands tightly, Dante immediately opens his eyes and looks at her hands as if they were the most special thing in the world.

Those two, they are really messed up even worse than Sarah and me.

“Look at all those cars! They look like ants!” Shouts Ben, smashing his little finger against the window.

“If you pay attention, you can see they're getting bigger and bigger, that means we're going down,” I tell him.
