“Badly hurt?” asks Rage with his typical father/lover tone he uses only when talking about her.

I look at him with a frown.

“Lower the damn tone!” I whisper.

I'm not ready for Bruno to find out that I'm practically living with the man whoalmoststole his girlfriend.

“Carter, do you hear me?”

“Yes, yes...tell me what I have to do.”

“I need some extra papers; I have more passengers with me than I expected.”

“What the hell are you talking about? Who?”

“I'm going to text you the data, have everything ready when we get to the private airport.”

“Wait, Bruno—”

“I have to go, I’ll call you in a couple of days, don't let the damn cell phone out of your sight.”

“I won't.”

He finishes the call.

Rage and I look at each other for a moment, not knowing what to say.

“Who is he bringing here?”

“I have no idea.” I answer, looking at my phone.

“Do you think it's serious about Sarah?” he asks, as he returns to his throne.

“I don't know, Bruno didn't sound thrilled but hell, that girl can cover a bomb with her body.”

“That's what worries me,” whispers Rage.

“Oh, for fuck's sake, drop the fatherly tone just for a few seconds, she's safe with Bruno, so let it go!”

Rage grabs an object from his desk again, but I duck faster this time.

A pair of scissors are flying over my head.

Crazy bastard.

My screen lights up; Bruno’s message is here.

“What does it say?”

“It's two people, a kid and a woman.”

“Oh, for Christ's sake, what the fuck is going on in your cousin's head? It just made everything worse.”

I'm sitting in front of Rage again, re-reading the data.

“He's crazy...I mean, I can get the papers, but a kid? That's whole new level.”

“And the woman? Does it say who she is?”

“Yeah...” I whisper in fear. “She's the daughter of the biggest human trafficker in the world.”

Rage stares at me and then swipes his eyes around the room, I can see he’s worry and uneasy, hell, even I'm upset.

“Hollywood, start moving your contacts, dark times are coming.”

Shit, Rage is right.
