“It is. I'd kill anyone who tried to touch her.” I give my attention to every one of them, in the same number of seconds.

“Oh yes, we understand perfectly. In fact, Kaled,” he’s pointing at his son whit his glass, “had a certain attachment to his pet too, unfortunately, a friend of his couldn't control himself.”

“And what did you do?” I ask Kaled.

He smiles proudly at me, “I ripped his heart out.”

“Well done,” I answer with a deadpan face.

Are they trying to scare me? Fucking try.

The silence shows me that his plan to scare me went to hell.

“Although, son,” Razzag continues, “we must admit that the quality Mr. Cox possesses is superior to what you have. Can I ask you a personal question, Mr. Cox?” he says with a thick accent.

I want to distract the focus from Sarah and get back to the damn business.

“Depends on what it is,” I lace my fingers over my stomach.

Razzag leans over the desk looking for my full attention, “How does it feel to fuck a woman like her?”

Miles takes over, and he too puts a smug smile on his face.

“Razzag, fucking a woman like her, it feels like taking ambrosia directly from the hand of the gods.” I give him a cocky smile.

Razzag leans back on the leather armchair, clasping his hands together as if it were a prayer, he's absolutely dazzled.

“Unbelievable, I envy you Mr. Cox, I like your style, I think we could be great friends, which makes this awkward situation even sadder.”

“I don't see the awkwardness Razzag, I won the bid, and you stopped it.”Yes, gentlemen, I'm the one who controls the fucking conversation. “Correct me if I’m wrong, you sell to the highest bidder, don't you?”

“Yes, Mr. Cox," says Kaled. “The problem really is we have to put our biggest customers first.”

Without looking at Kaled, I answer directly to Razzag.

“I bet more money, the merchandise is mine.”

“There's something I don't understand, Mr. Cox.”‘The Worm,’becomes a man and gets into the conversation. “The merchandise you intend to buy bears no resemblance to the requests you made to me earlier, so why did you change your mind so quickly?”

They all look at me, studying me carefully, I can see the suspicion.

“I don't think I have to explain anything, I saw something I liked and I changed my mind.” I never stop looking at the boss, just to make his children angry. “Razzag, you were recommended as the most professional and anonymous organization in the world. Clearly that's not true, I've dealt with much more professional organizations than you.”

Pride is the best weapon.

“Mr. Cox...”

It always works, especially when I bothered his pride with a little toothpick.

“I'm sure we can work it out, you understand that our client is very important in this republic, I can't really choose, between one client and another.”

“I'm willing to pay twice as much as my opponent's last offer.”

They look at each other, thirsty for money.

At that moment, a cell phone rings, Wasim quickly reaches into his pocket to mute the sound.

“If you'll excuse me, I have to take this.” Razzag's shadiest son, leaves the room and my eyes follow him, mistrusting him.

“So…” I continue the conversation. “Give me a pen so I can write that number down.”
