“This is not what I meant when I said those words, and you know it. Now, stop this bullshit, and get on my bike.”

But my feet are glued to the ground.

Carter takes a deep breath and the three of us sigh at the same time, loudly.

We’re all frustrated.

No one moves.

“Fuck this,” Carter says as he grabs my arm in an attempt to drag me to his bike.

Rage reacts quickly, removing my arm from Carter’s grip and pushing him away. Carter loses his balance and falls on his ass.

“Do that again, and I’ll put a bullet between your pretty eyes, motherfucker.” Rage grabs me by my wrist, moving me away from Carter.

Am I a rag doll for them?

I should fight back, but something inside me screams that this is exactly what Carter needs to feel. Pressured.

“Get on my bike, Sarah. Until you tell her where he is, she stays with me, and you won’t see her again. Got it, Ken?”

Carter is already on his feet, ready to fight, but I hop on Rage’s bike, just for show.

“You can’t do that. Sarah!” he calls out for me. “Think about what you’re doing for just two seconds and you will realize you’re making the wrong choice.”

“Just tell me where he is!” I beg.

Carter hesitates and starts pacing from one side to the other and around the bike, keeping distance between him and Rage. He’s considering our situation.

Come on Carter, I know you want to tell me.

But turns his back on me.

“Suit yourself,” Rage says jumping on the Harley. He turns on the engine and hits the gas, pressuring Carter a little bit more.

“All right! All right!” Carter finally says loud enough for us to hear him over the rumble. Rage kills the engine immediately.

“Let’s hear it, pretty boy.”

“I’m not telling you shit. I’ve decided to tell her, but that doesn’t include you. Let’s go over there and I’ll tell you all about it Sarah.”

I don’t know what to do. A part of me feels nervous because he might just tell me what I want to know, but then disappointment bites, that bittersweet feeling I don’t like one bit.

“Do you think I’m an idiot, Carter? You are not going to tell me anything if I walk away from Rage. So tell me now or I’m gone.”

Carter hesitates again. Rage is staring at him with scorn. He turns on the engine once more.

“He’s in Saudi Arabia.”

Chapter Seven

SARAH

Saudi Arabia? Did he say Saudi Arabia?

My arms and hands jerk, making me clench Rage’s waist. Somehow Carter’s words are full of electricity, sending waves my way, and judging Rage’s reaction, I’m not mistaken.

Rage turns around to look at me and whispers under his breath, “Is this enough information to let you go?”
