“I know.”

“It sucks that we both want her.”

“I know.”

“Maybe we should just . . . ask her to choose, you know, make her decide which one of us she wants. Then it’s on her, you know?”

My ears pricked up at that. I liked how it sounded. “And we accept her choice. We don’t get mad at each other. We accept it and move on.”

“Exactly,” he smiled.

We headed out that night, armed with that as our plan. We took Storm to a bar near her motel and took semi-civilized turns buying her drinks. The atmosphere between the three of us was still a little fraught, but nowhere near as bad as it had been. We had quite a lot to drink. More than usual. Jules was almost twenty-one, and I had just over six months to go before I could legally drink. It didn’t matter; no one had carded us in years. I guess we looked older than we were. Dalton didn’t mind us drinking. If anything, he encouraged it. Being shifters, we processed alcohol in a different way than humans did. We burnt it off quickly. It took an exceeding amount of booze to get us drunk. Still, by the end of that night, we had a nice little buzz going. I felt warm and abnormally chill as we walked Storm home.

“You guys wanna come in?” she asked when we got there. Her eyes danced when she said it. I felt a quick stir of excitement in my pants.

“Hell, yeah,” we said almost in perfect unison.

Once we were inside, the mood seemed to shift. The cool air on the way here had sobered me, and by the look of him, Jules too.

“So, uh, we were kind of thinking maybe we should talk or something,” said Jules, shooting me a look that told me he could use a little backup.

Storm didn’t seem particularly interested in what he was saying. She’d turned on some music and was swaying gently in time with it. I knew full well what Jules was trying to say and I knew that at least part of it pertained closely to me but watching Storm’s hips move was making it hard for me to formulate a sensible response.

She moved across the room to me and pulled me close. She wrapped her arms loosely around my neck and leaned back, shaking her hair out behind her. I was transfixed. I could see the pale blue of the veins in her neck under her skin. I don’t even remember deciding to put my arms around her waist. They just found their way there and then she was in my arms, pressed up against me. She smelled stronger than human girls do. Stronger and better. It was hard to describe. Something about the way she smelled felt right. Really, really right. She turned in my arms so her ass was pressed against my erection, and we were both facing Jules.

“Are you jealous?” she said to Jules.

“Yeah. Very.”

I kind of loved him for being so honest. I’m not sure I would have been if I’d been in his place.

“Why?”

“’Cause you’re rubbing your butt all over Sully and I want your butt all over me.”

She made a soft sound that could have passed for a laugh, and motioned for him to come closer. He did. He took a few tentative steps toward her. His eyes were full of disappointment and a hint of confusion. She ran her hand up his arm. I saw him quiver when she did it.

“I um, I er, think, I think you should choose, Storm. Sully and I . . . that’s what we both think.”

“You think I should choose, do you? Why?” There was something different in her voice when she said it. Something playful. Something dangerously sexy. Something that told me Storm was a woman who wasn’t the slightest bit sorry about the things she wanted.

“Well, you have to. Y-you kind of have to choose one of us,” he stammered.

“Why in the world would I choose one?” she said. “When anyone can see the two of you come as part of a package.”

I pieced her words together slowly, like someone deciphering a language they weren’t fluent in. My heartbeat was already irregular, but once I worked out what she was saying, it started beating like a drum. I tried desperately to slow it. I knew as a wolf who had shifted, her senses were ten times as strong as mine. I knew there was no way I could be as close to her as I was and for her not to hear how hard I was beating for her.

“W-what are you saying?” said Jules.

“You tell him, Sully. Tell him what I want.”

My mouth had gone dry, so I swirled my tongue around and moistened my lips before I spoke. She turned her head to the side, so I could see her neat profile. There was a hint of a smile on her lips. She ground the soft flesh of her ass back and forth over my cock again.

“Storm wants us both.” I wasn’t crazy about how breathless I sounded.

Jules raised his eyebrows as high as I’d ever seen them. “Is that right? I-is he right?”

She turned to face him. I couldn’t see her face, but I saw Jules’s eyes growing wider. He threw me a panicked look. I rested my chin on her shoulder and gave him a smile that I hoped said something like “I’m in if you are.”
