Before she could ask, his lips were on hers.

The kiss started slow and hypnotic, then increased in tempo, like the dance from earlier. Both battled for dominance, and then Nico backed off and ended it.

Autumn gasped for breath, and she would have fallen backward if he weren’t holding her up.

His kiss struck her stupid. Autumn didn’t count the last two because those were him seducing her.

This one was different.

Nico gently laid his forehead against hers, his nose nudging hers, and his hands went into her hair, stroking through the strands that curled on the ends. “This is my home when I visit the family,” he purred. “No one will bother us.”

Nico carried Autumn upstairs to the massive bedroom. Everything was made from oak, including the king-size four-poster bed against the wall. A blue velvet blanket covered it, and black pillows lay on top.

Autumn’s legs shook when Nico slid her down his body. A blue fire burned into her as she stared into his eyes.

“What’s wrong?” he rasped out. Nico set his fingers to her skin. Electricity sparked from his touch as he traced a line down her neck, then up to her cheeks, and around her eyes. “You’re trembling.”

“It’s not every day you have sex with a member of a mafia family.”

Nico’s eyes narrowed, “I’m not in the mafia, Autumn.”

“Semantics,” she swallowed hard. Autumn heard her throat click. “I don’t know if this is a good idea, Nico.”

“No one will hurt you. I’ve made sure of that.”

She wasn’t worried about someone coming into the house to attack her. There were enough armed guards on the property.

She shook her head and looked up at the ceiling. She blinked as she realized a mirror reflected over the bed. Autumn slowly looked back at Nico, who had his sleeves rolled up to his elbows with his hands settled loosely on his hips as he stared back at her.

She cleared her throat and looked everywhere but at him. “That isn’t the problem.”

“Then what is?”

“We’ve had sex once.”

Nico’s eyes moved down her body, “I’m well aware of that, mia bella.”

“That was the first time in…I don’t know how long.”

Nico cocked his head to the side, “You were tight.” He stalked toward her. “And wet,” he whispered in her ear. “Five years, maybe? You said you were with Hererra.”

Autumn shrugged a shoulder, her way of avoiding his gaze, “About three and a half years.”

Autumn heard his breath rush out before he towered over her again.

He walked her against the wall, caging her in. “A long time.”

“Yes, well, when you punish yourself for your sins, sex is the last thing on your mind.”

He tilted her chin up again. “We’re going to put an end to that.”

It was her turn to look at him with confusion. “How? A decade of tormenting myself has changed nothing, Nico. How do you think you’re going to?”

“Pleasure.” His hands found their way behind the dress, and he unzipped it. “Take it off and sit up on the bed, legs spread.”

When he stood a couple of feet from her, Autumn allowed the dress to slip off her shoulders and slide to the floor.

Nico watched her as he took off his shirt and tie. He tore at the buttons on the top of his shirt. “Keep going, Autumn. We can do this all night.”
