The women glare at him.

He winces. "Aaand I'm shutting up now."

"Good idea," Ethan encourages.

Sera comes back with a huge slice of cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Summer groans and shifts again.

Sera looks over. "Jacey Pee Pants, what's wrong with you? Rub your wife's back. She's hurting."

"Wow, straight to the name calling," Jace says, following Sera's direction and rubbing Summer's lower back.

"Only because you're an idiot who's letting his wife go through the pain alone. Ease her through it, Pee Pants," Sera chides.

I snicker, glad tonotbe on the receiving end of that one.

She turns to me with a glare. "What are you laughing at? You should be tending to your child so your wife can eat. She's still eating for two since she's breastfeeding."

I do as she says. I fear the wrath of a pregnant Serafina Nichols.

"Anybody else you'd like to scold?" Lucy asks.

"Not scold. Maim. But he's not here. He's in rehab," Sera answers, alluding to Joey who has become a fuckup of epic proportions. She digs the fork into her cake and takes a heaping bite. Cage's lips twitch. "It's the baby," she declares, eating another bite, moaning in delight.
