"Apparently not if Jamie's phone messages are anything to go by," Alex taunts.

"Dude, whose side are you on?"

"The right side."

I give Alex a look. "That doesn't tell me anything."

He nods. "Exactly."

I look at the ceiling. "I'm so confused."

"And that's why you need Audra to teach you," Mark inserts. "You up for it, Audra? It won't be easy."

She snickers. "Nothing about Derrick Pierce is easy—unless you're a one-nighter."

"Ba-da-bum-tiss," Alex responds, motioning like he's got drumsticks.

Traitors. These two are nothing but fucking traitors.

"Who are you to be talking about me? You're worse!" I defend.

"Stick to yourself, pal. You're the one who's assistant is fielding your castoffs," Mark replies with a smirk. When he's sure Audra's not looking, he winks. Aw, hell.

"I'll do it," Audra agrees. "But you better take it seriously."

"Uh…" I look at Mark who raises his brows and nods. "Yeah. I'll do it."

"Excellent. Friday. This first date I'll help set up with Audra. After this, it's all you, man," Mark informs me.

As if I don't know how to set up a date. I'm twenty-eight years old. I'm sure I can handle it.
