Until then, love would keep them together. It didn’t matter where. Whether they lived in Caleb and Everett’s bachelor condo, or whether they bought a mansion of a house in the countryside, it was all the same. Jayne’s heart knew it, and his mind had come to accept it, too. In Caleb and Everett, Jayne had found his home.

The next few weeks went by too quickly to chart. Between Parker, who’d decided to train for a spot on the Olympic crawling team, and talks with Everett and Jayne about what they’d do not only about Everett’s new position, but a permanent relocation that would fit all their needs, Caleb hadn’t had much time to think about himself. So it came as a surprise when, early Sunday morning while he was balls deep in Jayne, he received a text from his father.

Are we still on for tonight? Aaron, Gage, and the kids will be there. Your dad wants to know how many places he should set.

“Shit.” Caleb winced. He’d forgotten about the dinner plans he’d made with his family.

“Shit?” Jayne arched a brow. They lay face to face, locked together by Caleb’s knot. “That’s not the most reassuring thing to hear from the man whose penis is literally stuck inside your body.”

“No, it’s not that.” Caleb dropped his phone amongst the sheets and lazily thrust into Jayne a few more times, working his knot deeper. Jayne moaned and closed his eyes, throwing his head back. Caleb had made sure that he’d come twice before knotting him, but he wondered if he’d be able to milk one last orgasm before their session was over. “I made some plans I forgot about.”

“With who?” Jayne swallowed, then opened his eyes and did his best to fix Caleb with a prickly look. He failed. Pleasure loosened his lips, making him look not very pissed at all.

“My dad.” Caleb slowed his hips. “Well, my family, really.”

“Do you need to be somewhere right now?” Jayne asked. He trembled, and sure enough, his cock twitched, and he came again. Exhausted, he opened his eyes and looked at Caleb. “With a little more lube, I think you’d be able to pull out. I’m relaxed enough that it shouldn’t be an issue.”

“No, not right now—tonight.” Caleb kissed the thought away, and Jayne hummed sweetly into his mouth. When the kiss broke, Caleb continued. “After the incident with Bastian, I decided that life is too unpredictable to not tell the people I love that I love them. I reached out to my dad to ask if he’d be interested in catching up over a family dinner, and we made plans, but I’m an idiot, and I forgot. He knows it, too—he sent me a text to ask if we were still on.”

Jayne blinked. “So, are we?”

“We?” Caleb frowned. “Are you saying you want to come?”

“I mean, I always want to come.” Jayne wiggled an eyebrow.

Caleb rolled his eyes and shut Jayne up with a few quick thrusts that turned into a five-minute make-out session while Jayne rode his knot. When they were both too exhausted and breathless to continue, Caleb rooted his fingers in Jayne’s hair, holding him in place. His efforts to be more dominant were rewarded with a flat, incredulous look. Jayne knew as well as Caleb did who was in charge, and Caleb wasn’t it.

Knowing he was beat, Caleb released Jayne’s hair. Once he did, Jayne continued their conversation from where they’d left off. “If we’re going to officially date, I think it might be a good idea to introduce me to your parents and let them know what’s going on, don’t you think?”

“Maybe.”

“Maybe?” Jayne arched a brow. “Caleb, don’t let this become another big thing. What’s the worst that could happen? Your parents disapprove and cut contact? Which I don’t think will happen, by the way. First of all, I’m charming as fuck. Second of all, if what Everett’s told me about his family is true, and your parents are best friends with his parents, I think they might be accepting of relationships that deviate from the norm.”

“Do we really have to talk about my parents’ sex life while I’m inside you?” Caleb found Jayne’s hands and threaded their fingers together, then pinned them above Jayne’s head and kissed him firmly. “I don’t want to think about the fact that my parents have genitals, let alone what freaky things they might do to get their rocks off.”

“Just saying.” Jayne couldn’t shrug, but his tone carried the nuance he couldn’t embody. “I’d be happy to meet your family. Even if things turn out badly, I want to be there to support you.”

“Me, too,” Everett said from the bathroom door. He’d been taking a suspiciously long time after his shower to dry off, which meant that he’d probably been watching them fuck. “And I’m with Jayne—your dads aren’t going to bat an eye. The three of us should go. Secrets caused a rift between you and your father last time—I think the best approach for all of us is to be as open as possible.”

“See? Everett understands.” Jayne nuzzled Caleb’s shoulder, then sighed and slumped onto the bed. “I’ll check in with Shep and make sure he’s comfortable staying in the condo alone with Parker tonight. I’d bring Parker with us, but I think we should probably stick to breaking the news to your folks one story at a time. First up? Not only are you dating your hunky best friend, but the two of you share a gorgeous, intelligent, hilarious nymph of a boyfriend who makes your every day a living fantasy.”

“So humble.” Everett chuckled. He sat next to Caleb and Jayne.

“Right?” Jayne winked at him. “I didn’t even get into how brave and courageous I am for having lived through all the bullshit with Bastian, and how nurturing and naturally talented I am at being a dad.”

“So story number two is going to be what?” Caleb asked.

Jayne ran his hand along Caleb’s cheek and cupped his jaw, making eye contact. “Story number two will be that you and Everett are incredible fathers to a little boy who looks at you like you’re his world.”

“You mean it?”

Jayne stroked Caleb’s cheek. “Of course I do. It’s why I think all of us should go to visit your parents tonight. We’re family now, and in case you didn’t notice, Biernackis stick together.”
