In the respite, there were other matters Harlow had to tend to. While Jayne knew about Evie and Harlow’s connection to fame, the Single Dads didn’t. Harlow had kept that secret close to his chest, glad that, for once, he could be one of the guys. Fame hadn’t only changed his daughter’s life—it had changed his as well.

Harlow left the general chat to send Jayne a private message.

LoveHarley: Hey, it’s Harlow. I’m glad you decided to join us! Just one thing…

LoveHarley: The guys don’t know about Evie. All they know is that I have a daughter. They think I work as a bouncer at a club, and Knot thinks that I’m a mob boss or something. Can you please not tell them the truth? I’d really appreciate it.

The messages sent. The chat box displayed that Jayne was typing, but before Harlow had a chance to read his response, his phone was plucked from his hands. Startled, Harlow made a grab at it like it was about to fall on his face, but it defied gravity. In the glow of its screen, he saw a face.

Simon.

Eyes partially lidded, lips curved with playful desire, Simon gazed down at Harlow, then tossed the phone aside. It landed on the air mattress and bounced a few times before it settled.

“Simon?” Harlow asked, mystified. Simon had never been so bold before.

“Hey,” Simon whispered. Then, without another word, he straddled Harlow’s hips, tilted his head to the side so as not to hit his nose, and kissed Harlow with a burning urgency that made Harlow forget all about the trouble in the Single Dad chat.
