Tyson
Anotherweekgoneinthe season and I feel like I’m on cloud nine. After our loss in the previous week, our team has been on fire. Everyone pushed harder, dug deep, and cheered each other on.
We were away this week and even though our team was supposed to be the underdogs, we obliterated the other team with a final score of 42-7. Blair was perfect for extra points and with each one she made, it felt like the crowd was louder than before.
Blair’s at my place more often than not. She’s been taking meetings in the city for the new location and also letting Tiffany step up and get a taste of what her new leadership position could look like.
I’m amazed at how quick Blair’s brain moves. She’s always considering the next move. Making a decision for the question that hasn’t even been asked yet. She’s an unstoppable force.
I’m unlocking my door when my phone buzzes.
Blair
what should we cook tonight?
i’ll pick up some groceries
Me
we can get them delivered
just come home
are you sure? Already out
yes.
you trained today plus had gym meetings
okay, that sounds perfect
how about steaks and salad
i’ll burn you some mushrooms and onions
just how i like them
see you soon xoxo
I drop my bags and open the app to get groceries. Once I pick out everything we need and schedule the delivery, an email from the contractor comes through.
Apparently, there’s an issue with the flood insurance—something about being too close to the water? Seems like the plans are a no-go until we figure this out. I call my dad, and he tells me he remembers that being one of the question marks when they built the cabin back when I was a kid.
The contractor lets me know there are still a few options to explore, but everything’s on hold for now. He doesn’t seem pissed, but I feel kind of dumb, like I should’ve had all this checked before. I don’t know… I’ve never built a house before.
I’m just glad I didn't prematurely tell Blair about the potential house. There’s no need for her to worry or spend any energy on something thatmight not even happen. December in the NFL means we’re getting closer to knowing playoff seeding and hoping for another championship. Plus, there’s the very successful business she’s running and planning to launch next year.
I’m really proud of everything she’s taken on.
But Teague is right—there really isn’t anything to tell yet when it comes to the potential house in Michigan. At least for now.
Maybe I can figure it out and then share it with her when it’s more concrete. Because even if the floor plans aren’t, I know one thing for sure: Blair is my future.
Cosmos Kicker Parts Ways with Agent
UPSTATE, N.Y.—Benny White, the Cosmos’ injured starting kicker, has officially parted ways with his agent, Oscar Williamston, citing differing visions for his career.
“It was a tough decision, but Oscar and I just see things differently moving forward,” White said in a statement released Friday. “I’m grateful for what we accomplished together, and I’m focused now on getting healthy and coming back stronger next season.”
