Which is a terrible mistake. Or is it?

Because I run full speed into a naked Charlie, wrapped in only a towel, exiting the bathroom.

Fuck. Fuckity, fuck, fuck, fuck.

I’m naked. Luke’s arms are wrapped around me. And did I mention I’m naked?

Luke pulls back and I see his lips moving but I’m in a state of shock. I don’t even comprehend the words coming out of his mouth.

He bends down so he’s at eye level with me and moves his hands to my shoulders.

“Shit, Charlie. Are you okay?”

Looking like a bobble head, I nod and stammer out, “Yep. Uh huh. Good, good, good.”

Not convinced, Luke eyes bounce between mine. “You’re sure you’re all right?”

“I’m sure.”

Luke removes his hands from my shoulders and I take this opportunity to secure my towel and cross my arms over my chest as an extra precaution. Not that it’s doing much good, these Swedish hotel towels are so damn soft but considering I’m five-eleven, they barely cover all of my goods.

As if he just realized I’m in nothing but a towel, Luke spins sohis back is to me.

“I had no idea you were here. I figured you were still out with your team. I’m so sorry.”

His hands are on his hips and he dips his head. I can’t see his face but I can tell by his body language that he’s feeling guilty as hell.

If this were any other person, I might brush it off and escape into the bathroom. But after he held me throughout the night last night and the electricity buzzing between us at the Opening Ceremony earlier, I decide to stay put.

I want to respect his wishes and give him a little more time to wrap his mind around the idea of us, but a little extra convincing couldn’t hurt.

“Luke, it’s fine. Really.”

He’s still facing the door but he shakes his head. “It’s not fine. I told you I’d make you feel comfortable and basically accosted you just now.”

I huff a laugh under my breath. “You did not accost me.”

Speaking to the back of his head is getting ridiculous so I take a step toward him and grab his arm, turning him around to look at me.

“I’mfine.See?”

Luke looks anywhere but at me. He tilts his head up and focuses his attention on the smoke detector above him.

“I don’t need to look. I believe you.”

Why is he being such a gentleman? It was just a day ago he was teasing that my mouth was giving him bad ideas.

“Luke. Look at me.”

Taking a deep breath, he finally lowers his head and I watch as he does a slow perusal of my body from head to toe.

Here goes nothing.

As his eyes work their way back up, I unhook my towel and let it fall to the floor.

To my surprise, Luke doesn’t look away.

No, he does the complete opposite.
