“Me, too.” With that, she captured my lips, and moments later, we reached our climaxes together.

Iclung to Aaron on the back of his bike as we rode back to the place I was calling home for the foreseeable future.

I ignored the hundreds of thoughts trying to race through my mind and focused on the intoxicating scent of Aaron and the feel of his hard body pressed against me.

But the thoughts came rushing back when he came to a stop outside of my building. Was he going to come inside? Should I ask him? Was this just a one-time thing for old time’s sake? I wasn’t sure what to do, and I didn’t have much time to figure it out as I dismounted and removed my helmet.

Clearing my throat in a vain attempt to hide my nerves, I said, “Thank you for tonight. I had a great time.”

He took the helmet and pulled me to him. “Me, too. I’ll stop by tomorrow evening after work. Maybe we can do dinner again,” he said and pressed a chaste kiss to my lips.

The next day, the hours at work crept by at a snail’s pace. With Ember out of the office, there wasn’t a lot for me to do, but I wasn’t going to complain because I desperately needed the income.

After work, I rushed back to my apartment so I could change and redo my makeup before Aaron showed up. I thought about him all day, and I couldn’t wait to spend another evening with him.

When I heard the knock on my door, I yanked up open, surprised to find a boy-man standing there.

“Can I help you?” I asked.

He gave me a friendly smile. “I’m Kellan. I was with Annabelle the day she ran into you while shopping.”

Recognition dawned. “Right. Right. So, what can I do for you?”

“Badger asked me to bring you to the clubhouse.”

“Who?”

He gave me a funny look. “Badger, the VP,” he said slowly.

I smiled sheepishly. “Sorry, I’ve always known him as Aaron. Uh, did he say why?”

Kellan shrugged. “It’s not my place to question him.” When I gave him a pointed look, he added, “They’re having a party tonight.”

“I see. Well, let me just grab my purse.” Instead of arguing with Kellan, I acquiesced and fumed the entire way to the clubhouse. I didn’t like having things sprung on me at the last minute, and I was sure Aaron knew about the party the night before.

I followed Kellan into a large, open room filled with tables, sofas, a few pool tables, and a bar along one of the walls. Before I could take in much more, Aaron was in front of me pulling me into a hug.

“Hey, baby. How was your day?” he asked, smiling down at me.

I huffed. I wanted to be pissed, but I couldn’t deny being happy to see him. “Why didn’t you tell me about the party last night?”

“I didn’t know about it last night. I mean, we usually have parties on Fridays and Saturdays, but this one’s different.”

I arched a brow. “How so?”

He grinned devilishly, “You’ll see.”

As if on cue, Phoenix and Annabelle entered the room. Phoenix raised their clasped hands into the air and shouted, “We got married!!”

The entire room immediately erupted into a cacophony of shouts and cheers. Aaron leaned down, placing his mouth beside my ear, and said, “There’s your answer.”

Ignoring him, I rushed forward to congratulate my two friends. I had no doubt they would eventually get married after reconnecting, but I had no idea they would do it mere days after their daughter’s wedding.

“Macy!” Annabelle squealed when she saw me coming for her.

“I’m so happy for the both of you,” I said as I pulled her in for a hug.
