“I’m amazing. You’re incredible. I didn’t know it could feel that way…” Sure, they describe it like that in books, but I know that’s just made up in the author’s mind. It’s not really earth-shattering, mind-blowing, ecstasy-inducing… I’m sure I could come up with a bunch more adjectives if I tried.

“That was nothing, baby. It will get so much better as I learn what you like. But I’m really glad to hear you enjoyed it.”

“Understatement of the century. If it gets better than this, I’m never going want to get out of bed.”

Asher bursts into laughter. A real honest-to-God, belly laugh that shakes us both. It’s like the sky erupts with happiness and rain sparkles down on me. It’s the best sound in the world, or maybe second best after hearing him groan my name as he came.

“Don’t tempt me. I’d love nothing more than to keep you tied to my bed forever.”

That’s just after-sex talk, right? Surely, he doesn’t really mean all the things he’s been saying about me being his. But it might be kind of wonderful if he does.

Holding Emma as she falls asleep in my arms is my new favorite thing. The last few days have been difficult for my little Raindrop, and she needs to rest. Letting her sleep while I take care of a few things is the perfect solution. At least I won’t have to worry about her getting up and trying to walk on her ankle yet. Hopefully, today’s lesson will stick for a while.

After easing her off my chest, I tuck the blanket around her and press my lips to her forehead. It’s difficult to walk away, but there are some things she doesn’t need to know about yet. Plus, dinner needs to be checked on. The stew I set up in the slow cooker this morning still needs potatoes and mushrooms added.

Our clothes are all over the floor. Walking around the bed, I gather everything and toss it in the hamper in the bathroom. I clean the butt plug before putting it and my tie away for another day. Maybe I’ll put in an order for a few more things. I’ll need to get more condoms, too. Luckily, the couple I found hadn’t expired. I won’t be able to keep my hands off her now that I’ve had her, so they go to the top of the shopping list. After I make her mine legally, it won’t be an issue. The thought of her belly growing round with my child makes my cock start throbbing again.

This afternoon was full of revelations for both of us. I never would have expected Emma to like some pain with her spice, or that she’d submit to me so beautifully. She’s perfection.

A relationship was never part of my life plan. Not after losing our parents. They require emotion, and I only possess those for my brothers. Or I did until Emma fell into my life. In less than twenty-four hours, everything has changed, and surprisingly, I couldn’t give a fuck.

After adding the vegetables to the stew, I pull my cell phone out of the kitchen drawer and go into my office. Remembering that I can’t hear her through the soundproof door, I leave it ajar and dial Andrew’s number.

I’m gazing out the window at Emma’s packed car, sitting out front, when he picks up.

“I hope you’re not calling to ask me to help you hide her body,” Andrew says.

“Hi, asshole. Is that how you answer all your calls?”

Andrew chuckles. “Only when they come from the troglodyte in the family.”

“Not funny.” My stomach knots as I stare at her car, imagining her climbing in and driving away. “I need to order a few things. Do we already have a delivery scheduled?”

“We do. It should be here tomorrow. Add whatever you need, unless it’s something you need now. Maybe one of us has it.”

“No rush if it’ll arrive tomorrow. I can always borrow a couple of rubbers from Adam, he’s trying to knock Rebekah up anyway, isn’t he?”

“Fuck, Ash. That’s no way to talk about your sister-in-law.” Andrew sighs into the phone, then it sounds like he covers it with his hand so I can’t hear what he’s saying. Adrian or Aaron is probably in his office, but it’s still is weird that he’s hiding their discussion.

“Sorry, there’s an issue with JNG. I asked Adrian to check into it. Getting back to your earlier comment, I’ll bring you a box later. We have some stocked in the main house.”

“Really?”

“Yeah. You never know when you’ll need them. We are six single men or were. I guess we’re down to four now. Unless I’m wrong?” Andrew asks.

“You’re not wrong. She’s mine, but it might take some convincing for her to stay. Maybe I should remove her car battery…”

“What the hell is wrong with you? I don’t know who the fuck you are. Removing her battery? Are you planning on keeping her tied up in your cabin? She has a life off the mountain, Asher.”

He’s not wrong. The thought of Emma leaving is driving me crazy. I can’t let her go, even though I know I can’t force her to stay.

“Trust me, I know. Doesn’t mean I don’t want to. I was thinking maybe we could get married. Do it quick like Adam and Rebekah, then she’s tied to me forever.”

“While I’m thrilled that you seem to be letting go of your anger, this is the twenty-first century. You can’t force a woman to marry you or even stay married to you.”
