“You know I don’t expect you to give me head every time I do something nice for you.”

“I know, but maybe sometimes, I want to.”

“Hey, I’ll never say no to it. Like ever. If I ever do, take me to get my head examined."

She giggles. “Will do.”

She wraps her arms around my neck and holds me as tightly as she can. “Can’t we just stay here forever? I’m not ready to go back to reality tomorrow.”

“Me either. At least when we go to work, we won’t be ready to kill each other.”

“To be fair, I think there was only one of us that felt that way.”

I laugh. “Another fair point. Speaking of work, what do you want to tell everyone at the shop?”

She thinks for a moment before responding. “I don’t know. I mean, I have no problem with people knowing we are together, but I don’t want people to treat us any differently because of it either.”

“I can understand that.”

“Would you be mad if I said we should keep it quiet for now?”

I plant a soft kiss on her shoulder. “No, I won’t be mad, but I think that it’s going to be hard because basically, everyone we work with is a member of your own family.”

“Valid point.”

“By the way, doesn’t Dylan kind of already know? Where does he think you’ve been the past two nights?”

“I told him I was staying the night with Michelle.”

Knowing all of her sisters, I cock an eyebrow at her. “Interesting choice.”

“Michelle is the only sibling that doesn’t work at the shop…or isn’t romantically involved with someone working at the shop.”

“Makes sense.”

“Maybe we could try to keep it quiet for just a little while. I’m liking the secret little bubble we’ve been living in.” She leans forward to give me a seductive kiss.

Let’s be honest, after a kiss like that, I’d say yes to anything.

“Okay, beautiful. We’ll do it your way.”

Chapter thirty-five

Wildcat

Jo

As much as I wanted to stay the night with Beau again, I had to go back to Dylan’s. Number one, I had no clean clothes to wear to work. And number two, me showing up alone is better for our cover story of still hating each other.

The moment I laid down in bed alone, I regretted not staying with him. Lying in bed alone always seems worse after spending a couple nights with someone else.

Even more so when that someone is Beau.

Thankfully, when I got up for work, Dylan was already gone, and Leah was busy with the girls, so I was able to sneak out without having to answer any questions. I need to work on my story a little more before having to explain it to anyone.

There is one person I need to talk about it with, though. The one person who is my alibi.

Michelle.
