Page 8 of His Bad Idea

He cleared his throat."What's your name?"

Nothing.

Not a blink. Not a twitch.Just a stubborn silence that told him she'd rather walk through fire than answer him.

"Yeah, well..."He sighed."I didn't plan on buying a woman today either."

Her glare sharpened.

He ignored her and turned to his bike.If she wasn't going to talk, fine. But he still had to get her back to the clubhouse without her doing something stupid, like jumping off at sixty miles an hour.

He unzipped his duffel, pulled out three tie straps, and tossed the bag to Duke without letting go of her."Take that back for me."

Duke caught it with a grunt and strapped it to his own bike.

Baddy swung a leg over his motorcycle and looked at the girl."Get on."

She didn't move.

He tried again, slower."Get on the bike."

Still nothing. Her jaw tightened, eyes burning with defiance.

He tugged her closer. She planted her feet.

He exhaled through his nose and motioned to Hunter.

Hunter, deaf as stone, didn't need any instructions as he assessed the situation. He walked over, scooped the girl up like she weighed nothing, and plopped her onto the back seat.

She grabbed Baddy's sides on instinct to keep from falling. The moment she did, he grabbed her wrists and held them together in front of him.

"Hold still."He looped the tie straps around her wrists and cinched them tight enough she couldn't escape. He couldn't have her throwing herself off the bike the second he slowed down.

When he finished, he patted her hands."There.Now you won't die doing something stupid."

She sucked in a sharp breath."I'm going to kill you the second my hands are free."

"I'm sure you'll try."Baddy smiled, slow and amused, as he kicked the bike to life."Sit tight, sweetheart."

He pulled out of the lot, her body pressed against him, her breath hot with fury on the back of his neck.

She had a wild spirit. He liked that.

She wasn't his first bad idea but would hopefully be his last.He had no plans to keep her.One day, she'll look back and thank him for getting her to a safe place.
