“Here, little nympho. Drink. If you want to play with Death tonight, you’re going to need this.” Caden hands me a cup.
Smelling the Coke, I know there’s rum in it. But fuck, with Luke, maybe a little liquid courage would be a good thing.
I lean to say into Caden’s ear, “If I drink this, don’t leave me alone with Luke.”
Caden runs a hand along my thigh under my skirt. “Luke’s not the only one you have to worry about, but I’ll stay with you.”
My eyes have adjusted to the dimness of the room somewhat. I’m wary about drinking alcohol. I know what my body wants and I don’t want to give in to it. Not yet. I need more than sexual attraction to give up my V-card. I need a connection, more than just ownership.
I also know if I can’t trust them, I’ll never be willing to give it up. I take a deep breath and lean in until my lips brush Caden’s ear.
“I don’t want to lose my virginity tonight. Not here at the party and not at your house later. If I drink this, I’m trusting you to keep that promise and I don’t care how much my drunk self begs. I. Don’t. Want. It.”
Pulling back, I search his eyes. His green eyes seem conflicted, but he nods and leans into my ear.
“I’ll hold your boundary for tonight, little nympho, but we will play with you. Drunk or not. I’ll stay sober enough to maintain your boundaries, but it will cost you a kiss?—”
When I move to kiss him, he stops me with a wicked smile.
“Not now and not there, little nympho.”
Heat floods me and suddenly I’m parched. I take a sip of my rum and Coke. Surprisingly not heinous. The crowd moves to the beat of themusic while the guys chat around me. I drink and listen and watch all the people.
The Cheermonsters dressed to catch attention tonight as they rub up against some of the senior football players. I’ve never danced at a party. Studio and competition dancing is different, so I watch how the Cheermonsters move their hips and arms and legs.
Caden keeps adding to my cup. A little soda. A little rum. A little soda. A little more rum.
The dance floor blurs with movement. I’m not sure how much I’ve had to drink, but I do know I need to use the bathroom. I grab Caden’s ear and say, “I need to pee.”
“No need to shout, little nympho.” He stands me up, and I sway on my feet. Did I shout? Hands grab my hips and I look into Luke’s eyes. Warmth floods through me and my panties grow wet. All the earlier lust returns.
As I stumble into him, I giggle a little.
“How much did you let her drink?” Luke asks over my shoulder.
No, that won’t do. I reach up and grab his chin, so he’s looking at me. Mmm, that’s better. Those eyes of his, so cold and hot at the same time. Could he burn as much as I do?
CHAPTER 14
The United Front
Caden
Luke’s waiting for his answer. How much did I give Harper to drink? Fuck. A lot.
“Enough,” I answer and stand behind Harper. Her hand reaches behind her to grab my hip. Her touches have kept me hard since the car. “It’ll wear off by the time we leave.”
Luke raises a skeptical eyebrow. Her hand on his chin lowers to his throat. She curls her fingers like she’s going to tighten them, but thinks better of it.
“Let the girl live a little. We’ve taken most of her high school days away. Let her have fun tonight.” Her head leans back against my chest. All that tension that usually fills her is gone.
“I need to pee,” Harper yells in Luke’s face. I’m sure she thinks she’s whispering. It’s the funniest shit I’ve ever seen.
Luke glares before dragging Harper down the hallway. I follow closely behind. I made a promise and I’m going to keep it, even if it breaks me. Luke isn’t the only one who wants to fuck our girl. We all do.
Maybe Nico is willing to wait, but he just got his first taste of her last night.
The main bathroom has a line. With the little dance Harper is doing, I don’t think she’ll make it in that line.
