After what Caden told me about his sister, I want nothing to do with Tanner Lewis. I knew he wanted to use me to get revenge, but I didn’t understand the lengths he’d go to. A shiver runs down my spine.
“Still not settled on just one of them?” Mom hedges. “Maybe Nico? You two were inseparable as kids.”
“Not dating exclusively this year, Mom. You’ll just have to deal with me hanging out with a group of guys.” I lift my fork and point it at her. “I’m going to college next year and don’t need to do the long-distance thing. Besides it’s kind of nice having all of their attention.”
I shove a bite in my mouth to keep from thinking about all of their attention.
“As long as everyone is on the same page. You don’t want to end up with hurt feelings because someone didn’t get the memo. Guys can be emotional too.” Mom pushes her plate away.
“Not these guys, but yes, we’re all on the same page.”
Except maybe Caden, who wants tokeepme. And maybe Nico. Who knows what Luke is thinking? Maybe Eli. Possibly Jack. Fuck, that would be weird.
I shake my head and grab my plate and hers.
“I need to get ready for work. Do you need help with the dishes?” Mom stands and stretches.
“No, I’ve got them.”
After the pans are in the drying rack and the dishwasher is running, I take my books out of my backpack to make sure I have all my homework done. When I get to my statistics homework, I have two worksheets.
Jack’s name is in bold at the top of the extra sheet. Oops.
I grab my phone and pull up my texts.

I accidentally grabbed your statistics homework
Famine (Jack):
Should I come get it?
Me:
I’ll see you tomorrow morning right?
Famine (Jack):
Maybe I want to see you tonight
“I’m heading out, sweetie.” Mom stops and kisses the top of my head. “Stay safe.”
“I will. You too.”
She grabs her keys, and I blow her a kiss she catches before heading out the door.

I’ll give it to you first thing in the morning
