“Break a leg out there,” Rusty said.
Faith nodded and walked to the podium.
“But all is not lost,” the CEO said, inviting Faith to join him.
“She’s live,” Bryce said. “We did it.”
“What about the attackers?” Rusty asked.
“Getting arrested as we speak,” Bryce said.
“Got any names?”
“Hal Kline,” Bryce said. “A stone cold killer for hire. The question is, will he talk?”
“Oh he’ll talk,” Rusty said. “And Xander Campbell will be toast. How are the streets looking?”
“A lot of panicked civilians. But no one got caught in the crossfire,” Bryce said. “I’d say mission accomplished.”
“Looks like it,” Rusty said. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a call to make.” Rusty took out his phone and turned away from the conference. He dialed the NYPD police chief to make sure they pressed Kline to give up Xander Campbell.
“Bryce, send all the dirt you’ve dug up on Kline to the NYPD,” Rusty said.
Faith gave her word that the vaccine would soon be released to the public at a low cost. Every one applauded. Still standing on the podium, she closed her eyes and prayed for Grant.
