“I can do that too.” He kicks the door closed on his way in, hands already reaching for me. The determined look on his face makes me feel a bit like prey, like I’m the peacock and he’s going to use some of those wrangling moves on me.
And I’m going to enjoy it.
I wake up feeling like I’m in the Sahara. Having gone to bed in chilly Long Island, it takes me a few minutes to realize the cause.
The light snoring next to me helps me remember that I just spent thethirdnight in a row with Gavin Carlyle. This time there’s no event to run off to, and I don’t even want to.
Okay. So I do think about fleeing my own bed for about thirty seconds, but then I realize how comfortable I am with Gavin’s arms around me, and give in.
This is what I want, and I’m going to savor it until that feeling goes away.
I snuggle deeper into the cocoon created by the blankets and Gavin.
“I don’t think you can get any closer than you already are, Riya,” he says, amusement coming from above my head.
I sniff disdainfully. “It’s rude to point that out.”
Gavin stretches and then settles his arms even more firmly around me, pulling me closer.
“Can we ditch the events today and sleep in all day? I haven’t done that for years,” I say, really warming up to the idea of doing nothing all day but lying in bed with Gavin. And having more sex with Gavin. And ordering delivery so I don’t have to leave this room.
“We might as well. Harrison isn’t asking us anything about our proposals and he shuts us down whenever we try to talk about it.”
“I think it would be frowned upon to come on this business trip and stay in bed having sex the entire time.” But I don’t get up.
“I think I’ve heard some business trips end up being just that.”
I turn around in the tight circle of his arms and bury my nose in the crook of his neck.
“Well, if you insist.” Gavin starts kissing me, hands leisurely meandering down my back.
The alarm on my phone interrupts us before we get to the good part, and I groan in frustration as I turn to switch it off.
Not one to miss an opportunity, Gavin moves on to kissing my shoulders and back.
“We should be responsible.” I sigh resentfully as I turn off the noise.
“You be responsible. I’m going to make you come.”
The words stop me in my attempt to get out of bed. “I suppose I can shower later...”
Gavin disappears under the covers and reappears at the vee of my thighs.
One orgasm later, I decide this is an exceptional way to wake up every morning.
After getting ready (with no time for a shower—but worth it), we make our way downstairs for whatever event is today. With no clothing direction, I put on a dress that I hope will fit any situation.
Gavin and I come down together, not caring if anyone guesses what’s going on. They’ve already assumed we’re having sex anyway. Pari and Naomi give identical, and kind of scary, knowing looks when we join the group. The genetics are strong in this family.
I give them a bland smile and refuse to engage with the speculation.
Harrison comes down after us, talking to Jeeves/Ryan as he comes down. The poor guy looks harassed, so there must be a lot of last-minute tasks to do before the event.
“Morning, all. For the last day of our week together, I’ve planned a polo match for you to watch on the south lawn.”
“At least we don’t have to play,” Gavin mumbles to me out of the corner of his mouth.
“It could be worse.”
