Glenn let out a huff before announcing loudly, “I have no interest in pursuing any of you as long as you leave me and mine alone.I’ll have your oath on this. Those who do not agree, I will kill here and now.”

The dozen henchman still in the hangar bay stumbled out oaths of a truce, please don’t kill us, we were just obeying orders.Glenn nodded, accepting them all, and marched back out.

“Well,” the werewolf nearest Ross drawled, “bit of an exciting night, and not in the way I’d planned.”

“Like any of us planned for this,” Chloe said from somewhere behind him.“Best see if we can salvage the cars.Otherwise, we’re walking home.”

The werewolves groaned and moved forward, already grumbling about how to straighten all of this out.The dwarves were quicker, but then, they were better with mechanics and likely knew how to fix the cars enough to be drivable.

For once, Ross wasn’t interested in the cleanup. They could straighten this out themselves. All he focused on was the man who walked right back up to him.Ross didn’t think or care about the audience all around him. He’d thank them for coming later, properly, but not right this moment. He put his handcuffed hands over Glenn’s head, snugging him in, and kissed him.

Glenn might have smiled against his mouth for a moment before fervently kissing him back, a hand lightly touching Ross’s face in a caress as their mouths fed from each other. It was such an amazing kiss, hot and sensual, that Ross wondered why he’d ever hesitated to kiss this man.

Definitely needed to find every opportunity to do this in the future.

A cheer went up around them, a few people saying things like, “FINALLY!”or “About time, you two!”but Ross steadfastly ignored those. It was easy to do, as Glenn was lovely to kiss, and that really did demand his full attention.

Glenn pulled back, their noses brushing against each other.“Home?”

Home, where there wasn’t an audience, and he could cuddle with Glenn and possibly sleep for twelve hours straight.Home sounded fan-fucking-tastic.“Absolutely take me home, but maybe help me get handcuffs off first?”

Golden eyes blinked at him, all wild-eyed innocence.“But I like you in cuffs.”

Ross quirked an eyebrow at him, amused.“Me too.But I’d prefer no audience.”

“Ah.Fair point.Alright, let’s see if we can find the key.I’d like to get you home before dawn hits us.”

God, yes. This day had been a decade long already and Ross needed rest before he seduced this man later.Being kidnapped by insane high wizards and then orchestrating half of your escape took it out of a man.He hadearnedhis date with Glenn, please and thank you.

And if he wasn’t home and in bed within the next hour, there would be hell to pay.

And if the heavens were listening, he’d have Glenn in that bed with him.

Incident 7: Come, My Minion, Leave Your Master Alone

Had Ross done something to offend the dating gods?

It was a legitimate question.Between one thing and another, he and Glenn had had four cancelled dates, all because of various nonsense.Really, what did people expect Ross to do about magically enhanced marijuana plants growing in the cemetery?Or demons summoned in port-a-potties?And who would even want to summon a demon in a port-a-potty to begin with? The amount of nonsense that went into that plan boggled the mind, it really did.

Glenn had looked every inch the vampire master when he promised (threatened?) that the next person who interrupted their date would regret the decision for the rest of their living days.

People believed him.

They were scheduled for their first date (again) tonight.Supposedly.Hopefully.Baring something being set on fire.

Glenn insisted on taking Ross to an upscale restaurant so he could properly wine and dine him.It was something new for Ross. He’d dated before, of course, but his dates normally involved a movie, pizza, and sex. This was something else.Glenn wanted to properly court him.To actuallydateand treat the dates as more than a prelude to sex.

And Ross wasn’t entirely sure how to handle that. The feeling was sort of surreal, to date like an adult instead of a horny teenager. But he rather looked forward to it.As he put on a suit, he couldn’t keep a smile off his face.

He went through a mental checklist as he got ready.Wallet.Keys.Reminder in the clan chat to absolutely not interrupt them on pain of death.Lube and two condoms in his wallet.Actually, did he need the condoms?Maybe he could find a way to innocently ask Glenn that later. He had a feeling vampires couldn’t contract or transmit STDs.After all, they weren’t susceptible to any other human diseases.

He went for shoes—the comfy dress shoes (not the ones that pinched his toes and made him walk like he had a stick up his ass). His phone dinged and he swiped it open. His mom.Of course. She loved to have terrible timing like this.Ross’s date was due in two minutes.

Come over for dinner, it read.

Can’t, Ross texted back with one hand.Going on a date tonight.

He got socks on before she replied.
