“She’s protective, that’s a good thing.”

“She’s controlling and I can’t be controlled.”

Ace chuckled a little, “Yes you can.”

She looked over at him and smiled, the weed had her feeling good and loose.

“No I can’t. Especially not by her, she think she better because she got my daddy wrapped around her finger and they got a little money coming in. I get money, too!”

Ace’s fingers tightened around the steering wheel, he looked over at her.

“Money? What kind of money?”

Kayla laughed and waved her hand, “You know…money.”

Ace waited for her to say more. She rolled her eyes, irritation mixed in with her high.

“She sell. Her and my daddy. Me and Diamond started out together then all of a sudden, her and daddy start making runs together and leaving me at home. I found my own hustle and they have theirs. She want to control that, too.”

Ace didn’t react, he didn’t smile, he didn’t budge, but the wheels in his head were turning at a rapid speed. Rich and Diamond were moving product, that explained the shortage in their profits. He told Stone it was somebody right under their noses and all along, it was that bitch ass nigga.

He didn’t need any more conversation from Kayla, in fact, he was ready to get her young ass out his car. He drove back to the hood in silence, he was sure Kayla knew she had fucked up. He dropped her off a few minutes later and pulled off before she could close the door.Rich…Diamond…Product.Ace smirked before driving straight to Stone’s house.

He pulled into the driveway like he owned it, he didn’t even bother calling before popping up. He rang the bell and waited, Stacy opened it and let him inside. He went straight to Stone’s office where he knew he would be. Stone sat behind his desk with papers spread across it.

“We got a problem,” Ace said as soon as he took a seat.

Stone looked up at him with sharp eyes, “That ain’t nothing new.”

“Rich is back in the game.”

The room went still with only the ceiling fan moving.

Stone leaned back in his seat, “Rich? Nah, I don’t believe that. I would’ve gotten word of that.”

“Word. It’s true, I got it from the horse’s mouth, his daughter, Kayla. He moving smart, he’s using his other daughter.”

“Diamond?” Stone muttered.

Ace nodded, “Yeah. She’s sharp, too sharp for her own good.”

Stone stood up and started pacing the floor with his hand rubbing his chin.

“I knew sales didn’t just drop by fifty percent, I knew somebody else was eating, but I never thought it was him. He’s smart.”

“Not smart enough, I’m on his ass.”

“Nah, let him eat. I’ll handle it.”

“I already got a way in, Kayla. She’s my eyes.”

“Dead that shit. That’s a fuckin’ kid, don’t touch her.”

Ace screwed up his face, “The fuck I look like? I would never touch her body, but her mind, I’m fuckin’ it. She gon’ give me play by play and I’m gon’ take all that shit. He gon’ remember why he left hungry the first time.”

Ace knew Stone still had a little love for Rich, but he didn’t, and it wasfuck that nigga. Stone could watch and wait all he wanted to, but Ace was going to make something shake.

The following week moved slow, too slow. Ace had his eyes glued to Rich and Diamond, he sat across the way in a parked car with dark tints, patience endless as he watched. Rich came and went on a schedule. Same routes, same habits, same protective way he scanned the streets before letting Diamond move. Ace watched it all, scheming and plotting. He knew he couldn’t whoop Rich, that was suicide, so he had another plan for the man with two strikes on his back. That nigga was going to jail with his little weight, Ace reached out to one of the cops on their payroll and put his eyes on Rich’s little operation. When the time was right, he was going to make his move and lock that nigga under the jail.
