“Fucked,” Kayla blurted as Diamond shushed her and pointed at the door.

“You did it!?” she continued with excitement in her eyes.

“No. I’m not ready for that shit.”

“How do you know when you’re ready?”

Diamond paused for a second because she had no idea how to answer that question.

“I don’t know, I guess you just feel it and let it happen.”

“You gon’ tell me when you do it?”

“You gon’ tell me when you do it?” Diamond shot back as Kayla shook her head yes. “Good, but that don’t mean go and do it. It’s ok to be a virgin.”

Diamond needed to be taking her own advice because she was finally going out with Duke, and she had no idea how the night was going to end or begin for that matter. Her father had always been strict, and them moving drugs changed none of that. She finally got dressed in a light pink, velour halter short set and a fresh pair of white Air Force 1’s. Her hair fell bone straight pass her shoulders, Diamond was beyond beautiful before, but the money enhanced her.

Rich looked away from the tv and over at Diamond before smiling, he knew his baby was a gem, that’s why he named her after one. His first born, his reason, he trusted Diamond with his life, he loved all his girls, but she was his heart.

“You look nice, Baby girl.”

“Thanks, Daddy.”

“You’re welcome, be back by 10:30.”

Diamond frowned a little because she didn’t want Duke to think she was a little girl because he often joked with her about her age.

“Come on, Daddy, I’ll be seventeen in a couple weeks.”

Rich nodded his head, “I know. I just hate to see you grow up. These niggas out here aren’t good enough for you.”

Kayla stood there for a second before walking away, she always felt like he loved Diamond more, but that wasn’t the case.

“I know, but you raised me correctly, no nigga can play me.”

“Damn right, but guys are slick and great talkers.”

“Thanks, Daddy.”

“Have fun, eleven o’clock, Diamond.”

“Eleven o’clock,” she repeated with a smile before stepping out into the warm night air.

Duke’s car was parked a few houses down as he talked with a few guys, she decided to walk down and meet him there. Of course, all eyes were on her; they wasn’t used to Diamond dressing and having her hair done, shit neither was she, but she loved the attention.

“Man fuck you niggas, I gotta go,” he laughed and hit the locks on his car.

Diamond climbed inside and sat in the passenger seat like she owned it. She just knew her name was going to be sliding through the hood heavy. Her nerves went through the roof when he placed one hand on the steering-wheel and the other on her bare thigh. No guy had ever touched her, not even a little bit.

She found herself laughing more than usual, he was funny and charming as hell. Duke didn’t just show her the city, he showed her the parts she didn’t know existed. The rich part, the part that housed doctors, lawyers, and one day her. In thatmoment she was determined to get rich and take care of her family.

“Where are we?” she asked, admiring the huge houses.

“Olympia Fields. My father bought us a house out here before he was killed.”

She unknowingly placed her hand on top of his out of sympathy.

“You ok?”
