“I can handle a guy checking me out,” I say gruffly. “I’m not a homophobe. My brother’s married to a man.”
Jasper’s expression turns curious. “Huh. Interesting. Is your brother as hot as you? Are they open to threesomes?”
I let out a dry chuckle. “Blake and Owen? Yeah, good luck with that.” I know Blake has partaken in three-ways in the past—a little more information than I needed to know about my brother, if I’m honest—but he’d never share Owen. Not in a million years.
Thankfully the evening rush starts not long after that and I’m too busy to be pestered by Jasper anymore. I can still feel his eyes on me as I move around the bar, though.
I comfort myself with the fact that this won’t be a regular occurrence. As far as I can tell, Jasper might own the bar, but he’s more of a silent investor. I’ve been working at Whiskey Tango Foxtrot for weeks and tonight’s the first time he’s been here. So, with any luck, things will be back to normal for my next shift.

Well,it looks as though the visit I paid to Deacon yesterday did the trick. I guess he and Dad have talked things through and now everything’s rosy again. Really, really rosy, apparently. MaybeI should be a little more concerned considering Dad’s pushing fifty, but it’s his life—if he wants to over-exert himself banging a super-hot guy half his age, I say go for it.
