For once, could you date a girl for longer than five minutes before she spends the night at your house?

Caleb

I take this to mean there is no bro code after all

And I *have* been dating Malia for longer than five minutes. A lot longer.

Carlie

Please

I’m your twin.

I believe that you and Malia have known each other a while but are not dating.

You brought her to the wedding to keep Mom from setting you up.

Caleb

We were gaming last night. Cross my heart.

Carlie

Then why was she leaving your house in your hoodie…

Caleb

Thought you had hair and makeup this morning early. When did you find time to spy on me?

Carlie

Ava saw her leaving when she went to get us all coffee.

Caleb

Did she have to drive through the parking lot to avoid construction too?

Carlie

Saw her at the light on Kirby.

Caleb

Carlie

I won’t tell Mom you tried to fake her out since I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be real soon.

CHAPTER 11

CALEB

I give Malia exactly one hour and fifteen minutes from the time she left my house before I show up at her house to pick her up, coffee in hand. We stayed up pretty late last night, and I doubt she got the best sleep on my couch.

To be honest,Islept pretty well with her in my arms.

I was going to wait until Monday to ask her out, but after yesterday, I’ll be lucky to make it to the end of the reception.

I ring her doorbell, eyeing the red coffee to-go cup with hearts all over it and “I love you a latte” in swirly letters on the side. It’s cheesy, even for Valentine’s Day, but I’m digging it anyway. A few seconds after I ring the bell, her voice comes through the speaker. “Unlocking the door. Come on in.” The door clicks, and I push it open.
